@wagirl

We are half a country away from you and as far as South as we can get and have the same weather... chilly and sunny in the afternoon and below freezing at night.  I just wish we could have some snow with that Sub-Zero temperature.

What I'm dreading is shoveling in the frigid temperatures.  It's still snowing so I'll wait until morning.  Just hope it's not frozen.

@CelticCrafter  I was laughing out loud reading your report on the forecast.  I think that they are so mindful to hedge their bets that they should just say we are expecting weather tomorrow.

Here in New England our weather is so schizophrenic that predicting it is harder than herding cats.

Why? Seriously. Why would you want that? I'm used to it and I can't fathom why anyone would find that desireable.

I'll be a bad week.  For us it's the snow as well.  It won't leave at all.  Everyday this week below freezing.  Only on Friday will it get above freezing.  Our school is closed tomorrow.  Only bright spot when I don't have to go to work in this weather.

I've never been able to understand how folks get to work on time, having to shovel their way out from their homes and onto the street.

How do folks even drive in the snow without sliding around?

I don't get it.

Takes a lot of energy and strength.

The best of luck and safety to all......

It's currently a toasty 16 degrees, with a wind chill reading of 13 in SW Michigan. The sun is out, which is something we rarely see in the winter and it feels glorious in the warm patches where it streams thru my living room windows.

Snow and sub zero actual temps are on the way this afternoon. I imagine that the kids will get a couple of days off from school this week. Not because of snow. We can handle  6-8 inches with no problem. But the sub zero temps will make it dangerously cold for them to be out at the bus stop.

As usual, my odd neighbor is complaining, as she does quite regularly, that my keeping the themostat at 68 degrees in my house, makes it harder for her to heat hers to 78. It's a condo where we share a common interior wall. It's well insulated. She can put on a sweater.

She keeps her heat set to 78?  I would run, naked and screaming down the block.

Oh, it's just one of her many charms. In the summer, it's the reverse. I keep my A/C around 74. She wants me to turn it down because she "can't stand the heat". I've long since given up trying to make sense of it and just try to keep things peaceful. One of the delights of living in a condo.

@ROMARY Northern residents get used to it. We get up early to clear the driveway, and allow extra time to get to work. I'm retired now, but I would clear my driveway before work, and I'd get home and do it again.
