80 years ago today, on June 6, 1944, a synagogue on West 23rd Street in New York City held 24-hour special services on D-Day to pray for the Allied troops as they landed on the beaches of Normandy.

Inspiring photo of citizens lending their spiritual support at synagogue on that momentous occasion.

Thanks for this reminder of D-Day. So many do not remember or don't even know the significance of D-Day and the many brave men who lost their lives for us.

I was there for the anniversary a few years ago. I was moved to tears just standing on those beaches.
