This QVC package arrived in town yesterday afternoon and was scheduled for delivery today.  Then this morning I discovered this unusual message:

May 07, 2020, 16:30Your package has been delayed due to events beyond our control. We're adjusting delivery plans as quickly as possible.Albuquerque, NM

What do you suppose could have happened?  Some kind of accident?  Maybe they drove a forklift over my Bose Radio?  Interesting....

It's now scheduled for Monday delivery.

I get those messages from time to time. I think someone left it off the truck.

Re: Cryptic UPS Message

[ Edited ]

I got that 4 days in a row for the same package. Every morning it would be loaded on the truck, go out for delivery and about 5:30 I would get that message. I talked to UPS and they were no help. They said that if the driver doesn't feel like delivering that package that day he can choose not to. Then another day they told me that out for delivery doesn't really mean it's out for delivery. Whatever.  I finally got the package on the 5th day and it looked like it was dropped several times from the truck. The staples were open, a big gash in the box, plus the guy just left it in the middle of the driveway for all to see. Fortunately it was just a kitty scratching post and didn't get damaged. Not to happy with UPS at the moment.

Then the same thing happened on Monday with a handbag I bought. At least it was only delayed one day and it arrived in good condition but again this moron leaves it out in plain sight instead of walking the extra 5 steps to my doorway and ring the bell. If I hadn't  notice the garage camera alert I wouldn't have known he delivered.

I have decided to have my packages delivered to the UPS Store 5 minutes from home. I got sick of waiting until after 6 pm for my packages, having them just thrown anywhere for me to find. I can't stop them from being delayed but I can get them earlier and I won't have to worry about thieves.

I got that , too, just the other day, it got delayed one to 2 days.

I'm taking a break from ordering from Q for a while. Everything is just

in a jumble. I have to haul stuff back to the post office that I never ordered

they did give me a credit. To much hassle and the stores I suspect will

be opening back up before long.

In my area the dentists and hairdressers are opening back up. toliet paper back on the shelf. I'm optimistic !

I order everything online these days and I receive messages like this all the time. Everything is delayed. These are not normal times.

I got one of those cryptic messages from UPS about a Lands End order in February.  I cannot remember exactly what it said, but then I heard on the news that our local UPS had a fire!  I guess my order was burned up in one of the trucks involved.

I called Lands End and they were wonderful about it.  Sent me out a new order right away.

I can't answer for sure @Kachina624  but my husband works at UPS and says they are busier than the Christmas season most days right now.

He is a mechanic, and usually this time of year, he can hold out several trucks a day for service, but they have every truck in the fleet in use, as well as some rental trucks, which they usually only have to utilize at holiday time.

So it could be they literally couldn't get it on a package delivery car to get it to your house, or even that it never really arrived in your town, but was scheduled to, because even the amount they could fit on the incoming semi exceeded the space they had. Also, it could have got there, but they are so backed up with incoming trucks, they couldn't empty all the tractor trailer loads in time to get it out on a package delivery car.

At least you got a message.  I had a package due to be delivered to our business for 2 weeks....they (FED EX). NEVER EVEN tried to deliver as my husband is in the office daily, but they fibbed to say that they did try.

Never was a note left on the door...I finally had it divered to a pharmacy, where I went and picked it up.

I guess Fed Ex hires independent drivers, and I don't think they are reliable..

Fed Ex admitted that to me!!!
