Unless she plans to shelter in place until this is over, she should not be coming. This is the reason for shelter in place. to reduce possible transmision of Covid-19. There should be no parties except for those you are quarentining with.

People where I live have to cross state lines every day to conduct business.  Some business is going on even now.

Even if this were a remedy it would be far far too little, too late anyway.

My understanding is that in Delaware they are allowing people to drive through but do not want people to just come here and stop, to visit or shop, for instance. (we are a tax-free state so people come here to save some money.)  Stores like Costco and BJ's are open and they do offer merchandise other than food products.  I'm told they are stopping people at the state line and asking them where they are going.

@Sweetbay magnolia, I would think that those of opposing travel would of course not include travel that is essential.

And I think that the suggestion that people postpone nonessential travel is warranted and that it can help. It's not too late at all. We haven't even peaked yet.

i think that that would be virtually impossible to do......especially in our area. i can be in pa, de, dc, va all in less than an hour. i can be in nj in around two hours. lots of travel here and of course I95.....how would they stop all movement?

I've decided for myself only to go out when I absolutely need essentials, and then to go only to the two closest stores to me.  My reasoning is that at this time I don't want to spend any unnecessary time/distance on the the roads because I wouldn't want to use up any precious resources if I got into an accident and had to go to the hospital.

I consider it my duty to stay safe and healthy in every way, not just in preventing the virus spread.

We’re right on the border. Our grocery store and farm stand are in NJ while we are in NY. About a mile apart. I don’t think we have this rule.    And our gas station.

@gidgetgh My mother wants to come up from FL to GA for family birthdays next week and they don't want to get stopped halfway either.  It's a mess!

@Laura14

I know from your posts that your Mom has a mind of her own.  So, I’ll just leave this here.

Non-essential travel should be totally curtailed now, if not out of self concern, then out of concern for others.

Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.

@Drythe I am just letting it lie for now.  And you are so right.  Sophia Petrillo will not be denied and my sisters so far are supporting her so I'm not going to pretend my opinion matters at all.
