Something I'm wondering, are the results of the home tests included in the daily reported numbers?  If not, then reporting that the number of those testing positive is going down can't  be accurate. Does anyone know?

You are encouraged to report the results to your local health department, but who knows how many people actually do. If the test is one where you get the results from an app or website, the result should be automatically reported by them.  @occasionalrain

Didn't get ours yet and I got my confirmation email on January 18th. Nothing since then.

I am in California.  I ordered first day site was opened.  I received an email this Friday they were out for delivery., they came later that day.  I received 2.   I thought I would get 4, the maximum amount allowed per household.   But, I think I needed to sign my husband up.  My daughter signed up same time I did, they live a few blocks away.  They did not get theirs.   You will get a notice from USPS when they will be delivered....whenever they deliver.

@shoekitty  maybe you already figured it out. Each box should contain 2 tests so that's the 4.

If you try to sign your husband up using the same address, it will tell you that your address has already been used.

Shoekitty said    No, I didn't figure  that  out yet,....until you explainedit ! lol!  Now it all makes sense.  I did try to sign husband up, and it did say we had maximum tests allowed.   Lol  i thought it was like boxes.  But yes, each box has 2 tests   They are the ones I had been buying on Amazon for almost 20 bux a box.  So they saved me 40 bucks!  That is great

Shoekitty said   Usually, if results are positive they call doctor. Everyone I know has.  The Doctor gives you instructions for care, where and when to seek ER care. They usually give you a hot line to call if you have symptoms, or you needto ask more questions.  The Doctors report it.    I am sure there are those who get covid  and dont report it.  Usually if you take  a test for work , if you test positive, you report to work your results.

This particular home covid test is very good if done right.  The tests however are better at telling you if you have covid.  If you have symptoms it is best to take test on 2nd or third day of headaches, runny nose, etc.  if you have high fever, chills, aches and pains a test might verify what you already know  lol

@occasionalrain , I don't see how they could be included in the daily reported numbers.  It would have been that way all along since home tests have come out.  I personally don't know one person who has reported their positive result with a home test to anyone.  I've asked a few doctors in my area if someone calls and says they tested positive, if they report it and was told no.  They only report if the test is a verified test.

I tested positive last week with a home test.  I was sick which is why I tested in the first place.  I never called my doctor as there was no need.  At this point in time, I would think most people are aware of when they need to seek medical treatment.

Positivity numbers have never been completely accurate since the pandemic's beginning.

Many people never tested, being asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic, unless there was some reason.
