We have a few cases in my state but not nearby yet. On the coast thousands of annual spring breakers are due here in the next couple of weeks. The entertainment has been canceled out of caution (schools also closed) and to discourage the kids this year. Some tourists sunbathing on the beach yesterday from states with more Covid-19 were interviewed. A woman laughed and said she wasn’t worried at all. She’s enjoying herself and the kids are out of school longer. It was disheartening to see see her make such light of it. I don’t worry about the beach but they are in the hotels, restaurants and shops putting the residents here at higher risk and then traveling back home. So thoughtless and inconsiderate.

It is in my county now...3 confirmed cases. I knew it was coming but still tough to hear especially because we have yet to find out the details and where in the county the cases are. Coming at a presser this morning but I am uneasy until I know more. One good thing, this will now get the schools closed because they were to remain open despite all the bans and restrictions we have due to the high # of cases in the state.

@phoenixbrd wrote:@Carmie Yes, and we offered China help which they refused....twice. Even though this is the case, right now we need to focus on getting healthy not blame. Amazing that China would offer such an absurd statement, especially at a time when all nations should be focusing on resources to recover. Our country is stepping up to the plate and addressing the critical issues at hand....we will make it through this.
I am hoping that once this virus is contained that 'we' will take action against China..no time for that now but I feel confident that they will be dealt with in one form or another.
We definetely need to bring drug manufacturing back to the states.

I'm in Cumberland County TN, 50 miles west of Knoxville.
so far no reported cases but just a matter of time.
seeing public venues closing for 2 weeks.
follow the CDC guidelines, stay home as much as possible, wash your hands and we will hopefully get through this without seeing much illness and/or death.
