I have no clue. But I see people in real life that look nothing like the picture. I need one of those filter photo perfection things too LOL

Don't ask for thoughts if you really only want thoughts that agree with yours.
This is so funny! *I* (and I alone, apparently) am "making snarky comments" when in reality what I "should" be doing is allow those who disagree with me to say whatever they please about me and my motivations in the process.
That's not ever how it works, at least on these forums. One can say "I disagree that it's A, it could be B, or C." One can also *choose* to say (or as close as they can get to it under forum rules) "You're wrong, b***h, and YOU are X, Y and Z!"
So no, if someone attributes words, attitudes and feelings to me that are untrue, I'm going to say so, like it or not. Disagree with me, fine. Disagree and add pokes, don't be surprised if pokes come back atcha.

She continually (once a week, sometimes 2-3 times a week) posts posed semi-glam selfies. People tell her they are great pics, she's beautiful, etc - and these are people who DO know her in person. I always "Liked" these photos and made an occasional "great pic" comment, until it became noticeably constant. I wonder what those who know her think about this, whether they are weary of it too. And I wonder - OTHER than too much self-appreciation/narcissism re: looks, why someone would do this to the extent she is doing it. Any thoughts?
She is not a teen, but the mom of one, so past the pouty-selfie-a-minute age, one would think. I like her. I just wonder WHY? Any thoughts as to why someone might do this other than the obvious? It seems out of character for the person I have known online. Yes I can Unfriend her. Yes I can "ignore it." I don't want to Unfriend her, I like her. But this behavior both puzzles and, yes, annoys me.
I have 3 or 4 friends who work at the Company I work at. I actually like these girls. That being said, they post selfies almost daily. It is just bizarre. IMO, people who post selfies all of the time are either narcissists or super insecure.

Maybe she's endlessly searching for compliments? I haven't read the other posts, though.

A need for validation on a very regular basis.
And yes, it also sounds very narcissistic.

One of the women I know who posts selfies daily is very "average looking" and doesn't wear a lot of makeup. She's 50 years old. I asked her once why she posted so many selfies and she laughed and said..."cause I like to". I said okey dokey.

Are you jealous or something?

I have no idea why teens and adults post selfies every day on instagram and Facebook. I guess it is all about ME!!
I see a lot of "best friend ever, best Mom ever, best dad, husband,"etc etc. Always all dressed up or in a bathing suit. I am not fooled into believing their lives are so perfect, maybe they are trying to convince themselves. It is so fake, that is why I do not do Facebook or Instagram (just see it because of my teens). I just don't "get it".

I love Instagram. I follow relatives and their kids living in Europe, photos of national parks, NASA space photos, a couple of chefs who create amazing recipes, my husband who is a photographer by hobby, and my daughter who goes to a lot of interesting places, etc.
No selfies, except sometimes I do ask my daughter what she is wearing for the day and she will send me a pic. I love to see the outfits she chooses.
I also love seeing photos of Europe and the kids in different countries.
