@Moonchilde I don't get it either. Some people enjoy them. Great! I've never taken a selfie, nor do I aspire to. Unless, that is, if Kiefer Sutherland happens to cross my path. ;-) Hee-hee.... *swoon!!*
If the selfies are a thorn in your side, ignore them as much as possible. :-) Try to focus on the other qualities that you enjoy about this person, et.al., whomever it may be. At least this FB friend of yours doesn't post selfies every single day -- silver lining! :-)

Here is the definition of a "narcissist."
1. Has a grandiose sense of self-importance.
2. Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.
3. Believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions).
4. Requires excessive admiration [regularly fishes for compliments, and is highly susceptible to flattery].
5. Has a sense of entitlement.
6. Is interpersonally exploitative.
7. Lacks empathy: is unwilling [or, I would add, unable] to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others.
8. Is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her.
9. Shows arrogant, haughty [rude and abusive] behaviors or attitudes.
As you can see, it encompasses much more than just being vain about one's looks.

I did not read all the replies. I don't understand this OP at all. Why would you be critical of a FB friend that you don't even know in person? I can't even figure out WHY you would be a FB friend to someone that you don't know. I'm totally confused. I know all my facebook friends. If the stuff they post annoys me, I just "unfollow" them, but we still remain FB friends. I just don't constantly see their posts. If I want to know what they are up to, I go to their timeline.
I agree with this post. I have a FB page where I post photos of family gatherings, etc. These photos are available to about 15 family members and friends. I also have friends whose comments are blocked from my FB page and vice versa. As Mima said, if I'm curious as to what's going on in their lives at any specific time, I go to their timeline.

Oh, I do enjoy her, she's a sweet person. I am just puzzled, is all. But yeh, I just ignore the pics now ;-)

I have three friends who constantly post selfies. One recently took us to task for not commenting on every photo, lol. She doesn't post every day, thank goodness. My two other friends post pix of themselves all day long; in the mirror from different angles, in their cars, at work, after work, always with duck lips, and usually in low cut tops. Last week friend A posted 18 photos in one day, and friend B posted 24! Excessive, don't you agree? I now just hide their posts.

Yes I think people go too far with all these selfies. It does seem a bit narcissistic.
However my grand kids have me into Snap chat with the funny filters? So I do those but I only send them to my kids and grandkids and they do the same. (Because we get a kick out of the different filters). And we do not post them to facebook or for the world to see.

Yeh, that I would definitely hide.

@Shorty2U, to me there's a difference between snaps, sillies, with besties, with your kids, etc., and kissy glam shots. The former are just ordinary pics that anyone might take all the time, same as if you had your Kodak with you 50 years ago, the latter are posted for "look at me" reasons.
Some think that frequent "look at me!" photos (whatever the reason for posting them, "fun" or whatever, they ARE "look at me!" pics) are ordinary and some do not think they're ordinary...or should be.
I certainly would never tell anyone I think it's too much, WT?, etc. as it's none of my business why people do what they do in their own space. But have an opinion about it...that I can do.
