What criteria do you use to determine if you will post your general comments on Among Friends or Community Chat?
I've been on the Among Friends threads more lately, but occasionally check out Community Chat. I can't tell the difference between the two.
If you want to post something in general (not a specific QVC product that has its own forum), which one do you choose between these two and why?
Just curious. ![]()
Oh, dear me! Maybe I should have posted this on Among Friends. ha!

Good question. I've wondered what was the difference between the two, though Community Chat seems to be a catch-all. Maybe one of the Mods can clarify.

I usually read and write in community chat. Among Friends seem softer to me, more prayers, personal chatter.

I don't use any criteria to distinguish between the two. I just post wherever I want to post.

CHAT is allowed to be more free-wheeling, more assertive.
AMONG FRIENDS is supposed to be kinder.
You can discuss religion nicely on AMONG FRIENDS, but not on CHAT.

I have seen things of interest to a wider scope of posters in Community. I see things from news sites as well as policical things discussed.
In Among Friends you can page some one or share info that a small number of specific posters might be interested in that doesn't fitt the different forum topics.
Since posters use them interchangeably, I always read both.

Pretty much this, yes.
I go to Among Friends and there people are a little softern and kinder. Topics are less controversial and everyone tends to play nice.
On Community Chat, people will be less guarded on their topic choices, what they say and how they say it. It is more for spirited discussions and differing opinions to battle it out.
Both are nice, and serve different functions, in my opinion.

I think it is verboten for people to jump on other posters in Among Friends, it is a forum where people go for friendly support or opinions. Community Chat is basically no holds barred. Within regs, of course.

Thanks everyone! You all seem to agree. And what you say makes sense, now that I think about it. ![]()

my criteria? if i start a new thread it will be in/on this forum. if i reply to a thread or post, it is based on the topic of the thread.
