Re: Community Chat Chit-Chat thread!

Since the deletion of the "infamous" thread yesterday, two have been started that seem to be the same type of threads.  Since I'm not sure what is happening now, and on the chance that all those who were posting on the other thread find their way to the same place, I'm going to post in both places what I was trying to post yesterday morning when the thread turned into "read only" and wouldn't let me (when that happened, I saved it in Word because I didn't know what was going on).  I was getting back to those who had asked about me and some of what was going on in my life, which I appreciated so much, and to tell others how sorry I was about their problems.  I know Ford wants to post, so hopefully she will find her way here or wherever most or all of us wind up... I just hope we can all get together again.  And I also hope whoever caused what happened slept well last night... So here it is (from Tuesday morning)...

Good morning, ladies!  I've been trying to catch up on everything this morning... I was quieter than usual last night and probably will be today.  My silly fall yesterday a.m. has taken a little more of a toll than I first thought.  My carpet burned knee hurts no matter what I put on it... I did have a carpet burn or two in my younger days, (if you know what I mean),giggling emoticonbut they didn't hurt so much! My muscles are sore, my knees and bruised feet are bothering me, so I'm taking it easy, and I have moved the boxes!

I hate hearing that so many of you have been suffering from crazy weather and headaches.  Hope you all feel better today.  And MGM, I'm sorry you lost some of your hostas, but I can't help imagining those happy bunnies!

Ford, I lost my SIL and my BIL to lung cancer just in the last 2-1/2 years.. it's a very hard thing to deal with.  I'm so sorry about your sister.

An update on the talk with my dr's office yesterday... no meds for the tick bite.  Just watch it and be aware of any symptoms... although I have so many "symptoms" of things on a regular basis, not sure how I would tell the difference. The bites are healing well and not itching today, but I will definitely stay aware.  And since we were talking about diabetes, etc. the other night, and my barely "pre" condition, she said she doesn't normally have someone check their blood sugar, but she is sending in a prescription for a tester, etc. and I will check with my Part D to see what the co-pay is.  I may go ahead and get it so I can make sure I'm on the right track to prevent any progression.

I'll be checking back in today and see what's going on... and welcome to those joining us! I think this thread has evolved in such a great way, and it's been so much fun... happy friends emoticon

Hope everybody has a wonderful day!

So that is my post that would have been seen yesterday, but apparently that was not meant to be...

Re: Community Chat Chit-Chat thread!

have you tried a low-carb diet to help with your pre-diabetic condition? From what I've read, if you eat low-carb, your blood sugar stays more stable. And of course diabetics count carbs; maybe if you did that it would arrest your condition.

Re: Community Chat Chit-Chat thread!

carbohydrates break down to saccharides or sugars that increase your blood sugars. By limiting your carbs you are limiting the sugars which is why diabetics count their carb grams in their diet.

Good morning (or afternoon on the east coast) everyone.  I want to share a funny from this morning but first a little background for those that are not familiar with me.

My mom is in the Alzheimer/dementia unit of a nursing home.  I go to visit with her almost every day, bringing coffee and snacks from home.  Not only does mom have advanced dementia she is hard of hearing and has advanced macular degeneration.  Today it was the hard of hearing that created the funny.

As mom was eating the snack I brought one of the residents shouted out "I need to use the commode".  Mom responded with "yes, you have a sticky nose".  Me, staff and a couple of the more aware residents all broke out in laughter.  It was a refreshing light moment for all.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

Good Morning All!

I have to start working on a presentation today for a possible contract. It is making me a little stressed, especially since I have been feeling sluggish lately. The idea of a pedicure while I work really appeals to me.

@mstyrion 1,  I like the idea of Russian Navy with a few polka dots!  I wonder how it will translate on toes - maybe the dots down the middle instead?

Adelina,

I really like the pic of the dots down the side. I would wear that on my fingers and then this is how I do my toes:

Re: Community Chat Chit-Chat thread!

Also just stopping in to say "hi" to all on B's thread ... it's good to see we have at least two great linear threads going simultaneously ... if I miss something on one, I'll catch up on the other.

Am I making any sense today?   Didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night, so I got up and started watching "The Wire" on  On Demand (HBO) ... that is one great series ...
