I recently read an article in the Atlantic Monthly (I think ... don't quote me, though; I read online a lot) ... the author was from Baltimore ... he said the scenes were actually shot on the streets as they appeared ... and still do to this day.

I told my son that Season 2 was the sleeper in the whole series.   I didn't care for Season 5 ... think they ran out of material and should have ended at 4.

I agree about Michael Bell, but as I said, it's hard to choose, they were all so excellent.  The cart pusher, "Bubbles," always selling something, but what a tragic character. He was fine too.

Yes, they used the streets, not sets, to shoot that entire series.

I think it was Season 2 or 3 that Stringer Bell got shot.  I'll never forget that scene!!  I don't remember what Season 5 was about, I'll have to look that up.  Season 4 was about the schools, I think . . . I'll have to go to The Wire home page and look these up again, you have rekindled my interest!!

Most series go on one season too long.  So did "Lost" certainly.  The last season was laughable.  Different writers, disinterested cast by then.  I wish it had ended at Season 4.  My youngest daughter bought me the entire DVD package and I have not even cracked the cellophane all because of that idiotic ending.

And anyone can call me Ford, I had no idea what was going to happen at the time they changed the BB, but it doesn't matter, Ford is fine.

Today is Ru's birthday.  I am 5 today.  I wanted to share his birthday picture. 

The caption would be 'Some freaking birthday, eh?'.   Yeah, back with the puppy cone and medicine twice a day.   I've been through so much, but mom said she's making me some chicken and rice for dinner so I'm pretty happy about that!

Yeah, he's a very good boy.  He takes everything in stride but gets super excited when dad gets home.  Even though I've been with him pretty much 24/7 since he was little, he is a daddy's boy for sure.

Medicine-taking isn't bad because he loves the peanut butter he gets.  Yeah, he calls it 'peanut butter medicine'.  All I have to do is say that and he goes to the edge of the kitchen to sit and wait.

And here I thought I might be the only one whose animals talk to them!  Glad to learn I'm not.
