Re: Columbus Day .... no mail

I was wondering that myself.  I was just about to look it up.

Thanks!

Yup, federal holiday, which means that banks and government buildings are closed too.

But, for those who work today, it should be double-time!

...and all SurePost deliveries will be delayed by ANOTHER day. Of course, they would have been delivered LAST WEEK if they had been sent UPS only........

Re: Columbus Day .... no mail

Amazon Prime packages should also be delivered today. Their delivery contract covers both Sundays and Holidays.

Unfortunately, USPS gets to hold a couple of packages that would have been delivered today hostage for an extra day. And I have 2 or 3 more that I've gotten tracking on that obviously can't go to USPS till Tuesday. (All of the packages are coming from indie sellers.) When I worked it was "Yay, a day off! Now that I'm retired, it's "Darn, I have to wait an extra day to get my package."

Re: Columbus Day .... no mail

FYI, for government contractors, it's not a day off....it's a floater. It's this day or the day after Thanksgiving......guess which day the majority choose to take off, lol?
