A few months ago, a few people said some of the coloring books were too detailed for what they were looking for. I have a variety of coloring books and I like the Favorite Roses coloring book and Grandmas Quilts.   A few are inspirational and faith based and fun- Whatever is Lovely Adult coloring book for reflection and worship; Be Still Inspirational coloring therapy of Psalms, and Color the Psalms.  A reviewer Amazon reviews shows a few pages so you can get an idea of what the books/pages are like.

I would love the inspirational and faith based one. Thanks!

@makeup addict, Saw the word Quilt, and did one of those ooooooooooooooh moments. That could be great. I'll be watching for that. Did see more variety at one store we were in yesterday. I'm so glad this has caught on. Keeps me busy and I love the colors.

Ladies -

If any of you are on Zulily, today, Saturday March 26 and tomorrow Easter Sunday, they are featuring a very large selection of coloring books.

An Asian theme, cats, sea life, botanicals, Paris, Victorian designs, art nouveau.... on and on.  They look nice.

They will only be available for these two days.

Re: Coloring books for us

[ Edited ]

I do something similar - paint by numbers. I collect old finished pieces from estate sales, along with needlepoint. My SO inherited the family summer camp at Lake George, and we have decorated the walls of the great room with old paint by numbers with an Adirondack "vibe" - cottages, deer, etc.

I saw these paint by number kits in Country Living and started with the bird's nest. It's fun!

I loved to color a child and teen. I remember some of us had these folders that had very detailed designs on them.  We colored them and used them for our school folders.

I have an App on my iPad for coloring, and I do it once in awhile, but I would rather read or watch old movies.

Started a new mendalla, think that's it, after it took me 3 days to complete one other picture. I looked at Pinterest the other day, and wow are there some talented people on there who do this. What colors and shading!!!

I was thinking about you because I just finished a two-page picture that took me a couple of days to complete.  I need a break now. I don't want to look at a coloring book for a while.  Lol.

I'm not artistic but I think the process helps me to think outside the box. Maybe it helps the brain too?  When I first got it I was very literal that leaves had to be green, etc. However, since the book is mostly about leaves and forests (Enchanted Forest) I had to learn to be more creative.  In this one I made each tree a different color scheme.

I've enjoyed this thread, sharing ideas.  I want to order some of the spiritual coloring books too.

I cannot order books online as I must see the pictures.  I cannot do the ones that have tiny details and I hate the ones with black background.  I've tried pencils and markers and have finally found the best medium for me, gel pens.
