Started a new mendalla, think that's it, after it took me 3 days to complete one other picture. I looked at Pinterest the other day, and wow are there some talented people on there who do this. What colors and shading!!!

Yes, there are some very talented people.  I've looked at pictures online from my coloring book and they're amazing.  I think a lot of it has to do with shading.  I'm not the least bit artistic but i began doing that with my flowers and leaves and it makes a big difference.

It's been nice to have while waiting at appointments and surgeries.  I spent the day at the hospital and it really made the time go by.

@cotton4me, I too am not the least bit artistic.  While I have jumped on the coloring bandwagon, DH & I are avid puzzlers.  We love 1000-3000 piece jigsaw puzzles to keep us calm & brain-sharp!  Of course, having a glass of Merlot & a piece of dark chocolate while participating, truly enhances both experiences & I might add, our artistic ability!

I'm in the minority in that I do not enjoy coloring books at all.  They feel like homework.

Even when I was a child, I was not fond of coloring.

I purchased a couple of books recently.

1. Because I always enjoyed coloring, specially with my son.

2. Because I recently had surgery on my carotid artery and thought it would help me kill some time. But I'm having weakness still in my right arm and can't color.

I sure hope I can start again soon.

My favorite book I got at JoAnne's. It's called Enchanted forest. I do highly recommend you invest in a good sharpener.

Happy coloring!

Wow, you and your husband do some big puzzles!  I enjoy puzzles, along with chocolate.  Smiley Happy  More recently I've been doing them online. For anyone interested here's the link:   http://thejigsawpuzzles.com/

You can choose the cut and number of pieces on each puzzle by hovering over it (50, 100, 150, etc).  I hope it's helping my brain because it needs help. Lol.

Sorry to hear about your arm weakness.  I hope you'll be back to good health soon.  I just wanted to say that I have the same coloring book - Enchanted Forest and it's so nice - beautiful quality and artwork.  I just completed the picture below of the deer with the birds in his antlers.

I probalby won't ever get caught up in this trend.  I do my own rendering and painting.

If it helps people de-stress and relax that's good.

That's exactly my book. Maybe I'll see if I can do a little today on the same page.
