Color Pronounciation

[ Edited ]

Surfing earlier I heard Amy call one of Logo Lori's colors Ahnimony.....sort of like alimony. Just wondering could it possibly have been Anemone....pronounced ahnehmonee..(hope that came out the way I want it to sound) ..that she meant? As in the flower? Logo Lori did not correct her so it just got me wondering if Logo Lori didn't want to embarrass Amy....or is there such a color as ahnimony? If not don't these hosts not do any homework before presenting?

Maybe you should ask the host.

I don't know if I have ever heard anyone say it out loud,  but I'll confess that when I've seen 'anemone' in print, in my head I pronounce it like Amy! Learned something today. Thanks.

@shaggygirl    Was the color gray?  If so, it could have been antimony.

Anoemone (it's an invertebrate animal) if it was a pinkish orangish color or it could be antimony (it's an element, a metalloid) if it was a silvery medium gray

Maybe it's her speech impediment.

I don’t see the reason so many designers give names for colors of things that don’t really describe the color. Apparently a third party does the color names because I have heard SG and Isaac both sound surprised when a host told them the color name of one of their own items they were presenting. I prefer names like “aqua”. “Ocean” could mean several shades of blue.

It is the flower, anemone, and she has been driving me crazy for months with her incorrect pronunciation!  Other hosts have pronounced it correctly.  I don't know why someone hasn't told her!
