FAFSA delays & schools making SAT/ACT optional is absolutely turned the admission process upside down. There is grade inflation in some parts of the country & since most schools are test optional, the smart kids suffer. I am going through this with my son, the tuition for public universities is getting beyond ridiculous.

Re: College & FAFSA

I went thru this with my daughter in the late 90's never offered a dime from FAFSA, so when my son applied in 2001, I never even filled it out, total waste of my time.

When I was in college I was working full time.  I knew I didn't qualify for financial aid but before I could get student loans I had to fill out a FAFSA form and get rejected. I then would have to show the school that I didn't qualify for anything before I could get student loans.
