Not getting anything of any importance and not going out for junk stuff.   @Sooner

It's dry here, no sleet, ice, snow, etc. Just don't want to put myself out. LOL

@SharkE I raced out and back--got a couple new Talbots sweaters!  Now the sun is out and bright!  Might warm up to 8 today!  LOL!!!

It's going to be very cold for us too. Right now it's rain all day (instead of snow) but starting tomorrow, the temps will drop down.   Morning high of 45F.  Weill drop down to 15F  And if it drops that fast, winds are going be be very strong.

Still not as bad as the West and the Midwest will be.  Casper Wyoming dropped 70 Degrees from Wednesday to Thursday.  CNN reported.

@songbird   I have an old friend who lives in a small town in Western Wyoming.  Both she and hubby are in poor heath with medical facilities scarce and distant.  He is terminally ill.  This was their dream retirement; can you imagine?

I emailed her earlier asking about their weather.  I imagine it's really bad and I'm worried about them.  They have no relatives or close friends there.

I read this on CNN.  It started on late Wednesday. I hope they are OK.  Wyoming is a very sparsely populated state.  I think it 's the least amount of people in the one state.  It's also a big state. I think Cheyenne is the most populated at 65,051 So you can see how lightly populated Wyoming is.  Casper is second in population.  More like a very big town instead of a city. Casper is in East Central Wyoming. So I have no idea about the weather.  I googled it just now 4:40 EST It's -10F.  Tomorrow it will be just plain 10F.

I just notice on my computer it as dropped down from the 45 to 24º deg.  Just a bit of moisture in the air but no accumulations.  Tonight 11º, but sunny tomorrow.

Sometimes if it's very sunny (no clouds) it will seem colder.  Clouds have a way insulting heat that rises from the ground. Plus the sun does not have enough time to modify the air.  I've been in snow storms that seem warmer to me when it's very overcast.

@goldensrbest - I always worry about the animals too. Especially those that are left outside because the owners won't bring them inside or put them somewhere warm.

I'm so glad that our State and our City  have passed laws against chaining their dogs up or leaving them out in severe weather without shelter (rain, sleet, snow and subfreezing temperatures) "Safe Outdoors Dog Act"....They said with this artic front Animal Control will be on the lookout and prosecute these people....and urged people to call 311 to report this violation

I realize that "cold" is  relative  BUT

"It's cold'er 'n a well digger's butt"   here!!   brrrrr

It's been 60s-70s the last few weeks, this caught me by surprise. I hadnt bundled up my outdoor hoses yet.  *oh oh*

Pulled out one of my Berkshire "Soft & Cozy" throws.  Both "Sweetie" kitty & I wrapped ourselves up in that lovely, soft, warm, wonderful cover.

Finally the cold air has moved out today! Squirrels are out playing around looking happy as can be. I don't know how they can survive 17 degrees below zero! Mother Nature is amazing.Heart

GREAT!!!   I wish literally EVERYWHERE would have such laws, & enforce prosecution!  Including here!   For Hot & Cold & Inclement weather!  Such behavior with animals, & human beings, is so merciless & awful!  IMHO

You must live in a wonderful area!

What happened is people that love animals spoke up and made our voices heard....it didn't wipe abuse completely,  sadly cases still exist, but it gave Animal Control/Law Enforcement a tool to use to punish those that commit these heinous crimes
