The clarks in stores are much different than QVC.  So are many other products that sell in brick and mortar as well as qvc.  I notice this with most of the handbags like Dooney, and a few other brands.  They change a pocket or two to make it a tiny different than the store.  They eliminate hardware in certain place, or a zipper or inner pocket.  They eliminate or change bias trim on onside pockets, and they change the lining.  Some of the handbags and shoes the thickness of leather is slightly thinned, lining, and sole.  All of this cuts costs a bit, and changes the item so we cant price compare, because if they change 7 points ( I think it is 7) on an item, even slightly legally it is a different item although at first glace it seems the same.  We think we are buying a certain brand, we are...just a tweaked brand.

@151949   Not all stores carry a wide range of sizes and widths.  Wide and narrow shoes are often left out of store inventory and even if the store carries them the pickings are very slim.

I agree about trying on shoes for the best fit but this issue here is not whether to buy online or in a store-the issue is the inconsistency among many brands today; buy one style last year and the next year the fit for that style is totally different.

I buy most of my shoes online, most often from Zappos, because of the variety offered that I just can’t find locally.

Well, that is your decision , but then shouldn't whine about return S&H charges - because you knew about that before you bought them.

            I've been a wee bit uncertain about the quality of the brand, even from sources other than QVC, since buying 3 different styles and after a few months discovering the uppers were separating from the soles.    These were nice styles, not inexpensive, that I purchased from Dillard's.   I saw other reports of this on the forums, and also on other websites, with the shoes coming apart suddenly with no warning.   I just looked online and it appears there still are accounts of this, even now.

@151949  Tansy wasn't whining about S&H.

Zappos has free shipping and free returns.

So does the Earth Shoe website.

You might want to retract that remark.

I would contact cs and make a case for the PAIR of shoes 👞 being defective, shipping charges should be waived.

Shipping charges are always waived when an item is exchanged...shoes, clothing, whatever. If a shoe is too wide, too narrow, or you simply want another color, there is no charge at all for the exchange.

There are no return S&H charges at Zappos.  The shoes arrive within one to two days.  If I don’t like the shoes, I send them back free of S&H.  No whining neededSmiley Happy

It’s one site where I find the reviews to be helpful, too.

My last pair of Clark's came from Zulily before they initiated a return policy and I am stuck with them.  Way too tight.  I have one more pair on order from QVC in a slip on style, if this doesn't work I am done.  They used to be my go-to brand in the old days.
