We all have our opinions, hardly call that judgemental. Seems  you are doing that.

I'm one that likes to celebrate one holiday at a time. I can't get into the Christmas spirit when it's almost 100 degrees out and I'm trying to keep cool. Now if I lived in a state where the climate was warm all year round, I'd be used to heat in December, but I'm in Maryland where we usually have four seasons. But it's about getting those dollars and there are plenty who do shop for Christmas in the summer so they can be done with it and relax when the season actually arrives. I just changed the channel when it was on.

What's next-- "Fourth of July in January" programming??!! It's the same principle-- start selling holiday items 6 months before the actual holiday!  Woman Surprised  Woman LOL

People's bad life experiences are no excuse for whining about things that are insignificant (like what retailers choose to sell and when)

If anyone has had a life that causes them to not celebrate a certain holiday, or to have bad memories relating to it, that can be sad indeed, but it is no license to think that everyone else is misguided because they actually enjoy it.

Going to the Suggestion Box and letting the powers that be know what kind of programming one does and does not seek out, what products on would like to see more or less of etc. is valid and constructive.

Continually complaining about something that only airs a few days in a month to simply draw others into your misery is just childish.

It doesn't bother me.  I'm not that into all those decorations and gourmet holiday foods from qvc  so I don't really watch CIJ, but I don't begrudge anyone who does. I don't think anyone is trying to rush any holiday.  Same reason in the middle of the dread of winter, I love to flip through gardening catalogues and plan my garden.

It IS getting earlier though lol.

Re: Christmas in July

[ Edited ]

I can't imagine disliking a holiday so much that I don't celebrate because of commercialism. Do I think Christmas is overly commercialized? Absolutely! Do I let it influence the way I live my life or celebrate the season? Of course not. To quote Charlie Brown "I'm not going to let all this commercialism ruin my Christmas."

There are so many ways to keep the spirit of Christmas that don't involve watching a shopping channel or visiting a store.

This week's offerings on QVC include three full days of clothing and a full day of jewelry. They have a beauty channel that runs 24/7/364. Does that bore me to tears? Yep, but I still enjoying shopping for clothes and makeup on my own terms. I understand that many QVC shoppers love these days, and I will happily leave them to it and turn the channel, turn off the tv, go out and spend time doing things that do make me happy.

QVC is a "store without a door", it's a shopping channel, not an entertainment channel. They're a retail establishment that is trying to capture their share of the retail market, no different from Target, Macy's and the rest. A person can change the channel at QVC the same way they can walk out of a store if they don't like the product offerings.

As for me, I thoroughly enjoy spending time watching the Christmas in July programming, and then going outside to soak up the warm summer sun. Best of both worlds for me!  🌞❄️😊

Some reasons I like CIJ -

-It makes me feel good!

-It breaks up the monotony of seeing the 'regular' merchandise

-It reminds me of my favorite time of year

-The food makes me hungry

-It makes me feel good!

-I get to see Jim Shore

-I get my Christmas shopping started for 6 grandkids (I have to start early)

-There are always new decorating tips from Valerie

-It makes me feel good!

I'm ever thankful at Christmas time and it reminds me of wonderful days gone by with close family and friends.  Not to mention (again), it's my favorite time of the year.  Why wouldn't I want to be reminded of that in July?

I am a minimalist .... since I will not be able to "take this stuff with me when I'm gone" ... I simply stopped buying it.  How many votive candles, plastic angels, or gazing balls can one accumulate in a lifetime.

Enjoy it ladies~!

I agree 100 percent!  It's overkill, just too much!

Not only do we have to suffer through Christmas in July , QVC has

extended it into August!!!

Enough already, stop Please!!!
