I hardly watch QVC anymore (I do check online to see what they have). However, I do tune in to as many of the Christmas shows starting in July on. I prefer the Christmas shows instead of the same old make up, jewelry, clothing, and handbags. I may not buy tons of Christmas type things, (just some) but I find it, well, more upbeat I guess? lol. Especially when its 100 degrees here like today!

I seem to remember it around July 25, not July 1.  Evine did it before QVC.  It will be all retailers.  Doesn't make it right, but they will continue to do it if people buy.

I can get sick of it by December.  I love Christmas after Thanksgiving.  But I don't see it changing.  I just don't watch even one minute of it.  Not so much on purpose but because I have zero interest in it.

From now till late December they will shove it at us.  I just tune out.

I think it is just ridiculous, i do not watch, actually don't watch much period, money grabbing is what it is,why people like this is just beyond me.

I am chuckling at the comments..People are watching a SHOPPPING channel, whose business mission is to SELL, and they seem surprised at this”blatant grab for money”....

So is every other day a more “subtle” grab for money????

Do people not realize that for many, many retailers, the Christmas season is what gets them out of the red and into the black.?

But how is this money grabbing any different than beauty items on all three of their channels at the same time often?

The endless array of beauty items, multiple companies all claiming to have 'the' thing for this or that, the days and weeks on end of their programming ALL YEAR LONG.  Same can be said for clothing or shoes or any other thing QVC sells.

It's all a money grab. They are in business to make money. It's what they do. So what is the difference between this type of merchandise and the others they beat into the ground relentlessly?

There isn't any. They air and sell what people continue to buy.

I don't understand what anybody finds appealing in all the clothing, shoes and beauty either, but I don't whine about it every time it is on. I go do something else.

If it bothers people that much, just don't watch. Almost all cable and dish providers have over 300+ channels to watch other than QVC.

It's sort of a July tradition. It comes every year. This is nothing new.

Besides, it's a heck of a lot better than watching the constant clothing, shoe, and jewelry extravaganza's.

Yesterday, I watched a few shows, but mostly the marathon of the Walking Dead, in between watering my garden, pruning, etc.  I have become good at multitasking.  I look at CIJ as getting good buys for gifts and decor, then carry on with my regular routine until there are more shows.

After Thanksgiving, I am raring to get to decorating and wrapping gifts, and doing in the garden what I couldn't during the 90 degree weather.

I really don't understand why people complain about a few days a month during the latter part of the year of Christmas shows.

Worse than CIJ are the judgemental comments.  One never knows what another person has gone through so it's best to not judge others, including who hate Christmas shows in July, August, Sept.

Spoiler

I have no interest in spending money on things I won't be using for months ahead of time.  Too many other things I want to do w/those $$'s.
