Yes, I hope to have Christmas decorating done by Christmas Day.  Then I can start taking it down.  Smiley Happy

Try not to get anxiety about it!  I know of several people that are still working on their decorating, their shopping and their card writing.  I finished everything except I am still wrapping presents.  I am one who gets a lot of anxiety if I don't get things done sort of early.  I struggled a lot and really pushed myself to get where I am and I really wasn't feeling well at all.  But it's really crazy the way we do make ourselves feel bad about this.  It will all get done - try to relax and enjoy the season!

I'm so behind on Christmas gifts. November was horrible with my brothers illness, my SIL passing. Went back to the office after 2 weeks off, got caught up with work and then I got shingles and have been isolated at home. I will be cleared tomorrow. Back to the office on Monday and will have one week to figure it out.

Re: Christmas Decorating

[ Edited ]

Everyone has their challenges.  Each year can be different.  Do the best you can or not at all.  It will still be Christmas.

Two years ago, I was sitting here with a broken arm.  This year, I had everything done a week before Thanksgiving.

Maybe this year, just give yourself the gift of grace and a peaceful clean home with no stress!  Merry Christmas!

I enjoy decorating for Christmas and all the holidays throughout the year.  It's not a chore to me.  The decorations (both indoors and outside) refresh my home and I look forward to the change in appearance.

I was late with the decorating this year. I don't know why. I had a small holiday party Friday night and my decorating was only half done. I didn't have my tree up. Yesterday my nieces showed up with my favorite pizza and completely finished decorating my house. I left it all to them and it looks great. I opted not to have the big tree. I put a small tree on a table with a Christmas tablecloth and all my VPH Christmas houses around the tree. It's lovely. No decorations in the master bedroom and bath this year.

@happilyretiredgirl - You are not alone. Every year I have big plans and some years I can pull it off and some I can't. I have learned to scale back as needed. Lots of things going on and this will have to be a scaled back year. Disappointing for sure, but my scaled back will still be festive.

It isn't worth it to have anxiety about it. Do what you can and enjoy the outcome of your efforts. Decorating should be fun and not stressful. Smiley Happy

I am hoping to start tonight or tomorrow and am hosting Christmas.
