okay really sick of the woke stuff. QVC did it for years and it just happened to be on Christmas day because that was the day that nobody was working. all I'm saying is it's nice to see what the hosts are up to during the holidays no matter what they celebrate some of them celebrated Hanukkah some of them celebrated Christmas and Kwanzaa it was nice to get a peek at what their lives were like. it was about family instead of doing endless reruns of them selling stuff.

that's your prerogative to watch or not. for me since I've been watching QVC since it's started back in the '80s and that tradition of showing the hosts and how they celebrate the holidays has been going on for quite some time. it was on an endless loop all day long I could watch something else and then come back to it and you'd be able to catch up. it was just a nice thing that QVC did and they didn't always worry about the bottom line kind of sad it has gone to the wayside.

I applaud Qurate wholeheartedly and loudly for selling with all the airtime available!

Let's go Qurate!

I must say I was sadly disappointed with QVC on rerunning products for sale as opposed to what they normally did in the past. every Christmas I kind of look forward to seeing what David was up to over the Christmas holidays or just getting to know the different hosts and their traditions etc. it was a nice break from the commercialism that takes place the rest of the year. I was pleasantly surprised to find the gem shopping Network was doing it. they even did a touching tribute to a host that had passed away recently. disappointed in you QVC I hope you make up for it next year.

Keep in mind that if they do special programming for one faith based  holiday, they would have to do the same for others.  And then where does it end?   Doing behind the scenes type stuff on an assortment of holidays would seriously cut into QVC's profits.  Like it or not, the bottom line is what QVC is ultimately about.

@JeanLouiseFinch Huh? They've been doing the special Christmas day programming for years. Why is it now an issue

It's my theory, @Ladybug724.  Christmas used to be the common celebration among most of the population, but that's no longer the case.  There are all kinds of belief systems out there and those who celebrate something else could demand their own special programming too. QVC may be taking the safe route.  Just a thought.

@JeanLouiseFinch The funny thing about that is, for almost half the year a major focus of their sales pitches is all about Christmas.

Then suddenly, on the very day they've been capitalizing off of, they're going to pretend it doesn't exist? Makes zero sense

I never watched a shopping on Christmas.  Not in the 30 years I've been a customer

It's the one day that I would never even think about Qvc.  I'm an adult and I fully understand that shopping channels are businesses and these are stressful times for retailers.  I didn't see HSN or QVC on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.  I assume they were selling via pre-recorded programming and I'm ok with that.  It's important that their employees had the time off.

I love using the word "woke."

It's marvelous and conveys a great deal for me.  I will continue to use it whenever and wherever I choose.

Does anyone know what "woke" means? I don't usually see that word here!!! Or maybe we shouldn't get into it ?!?!

@EastCoastGal You'd be wise to look it up elsewhere.  Explaining it in the forum could start another conversation that could end up getting the thread poofed.

Have you checked out some of the videos that are online now?  "Livestreams", I believe they're called.

Why would you watch a shopping channel to get away forum commercialism?

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.
