Christmas Classics on TCM

[ Edited ]

I know there are a couple of posters who often mention classic movies when they are on TCM or AMC, so in case this has already been mentioned I apologize!

This Christmastime the channel TMC is really showing a slew of my very favorite old (40s) B&W Christmas themed and Christmas-adjacent movies.

Going My Way, Bells of St. Mary's, Penny Serenade, Blossoms In The Dust, The Bishop's Wife, Christmas In Connecticut, The Shop Around The Corner, A Christmas Carol......  A FEAST!!!

The airtimes for some of these are pretty inconvenient...(2AM, 6AM..) but I set them to record so I can get warm and fuzzy at a convenient hour.

The whole Christmas schedule for TCM is available online with air dates and times.

I find that whatever the world is throwing at me and

causing a bit of Humbugitty....these tried and true gems

put me right back in the spirit.

Re: Christmas Classics on TCM

I've been watching Christmas in Connecticut and The Man Who Came to Dinner over and over on TCM's On Demand. I've also watched The Shop Around the Corner on TCM. All three of these movies are among my favorites.

The only version of A Christmas Carol I've watched yet is the Muppets one - which is my favorite version - but I would like to watch the Reginald Owen one, too.

One of my favorite sort of Christmas movies is on TCM at 3:15 AM on Dec. 25. Rosalind Russell is wonderful !

Penny Serenade is a 3 hankie movie for sure. It is unforgettable if you are up for it.

I watched those movies on other TV stations. I think I watched Miracle on 34th Street on AMC.

One of my must see Christmas movies is Larceny, Inc. It is on at 4:00 PM Thursday.  Well, not really a Christmas movie but it is set at Christmas time.

It's aWonderful life is never on TCM. It has something to do with the movie rights. It's only been shown on ABC or NBC with a zillion commercials. We just bought the DVD to avoid that nonsense.

Thanks for the reminder, @781Florist .  I keep forgetting to check to see if they will be airing "Remember the Night",  another Stanwyck Christmas great, the young Stanwyck, with Fred MacMurray.  TCM has been showing it more at Christmas than they used to, thankfully.
