Re: Check In Please....from this latest winter storm

Here in Central PA we got freezing rain which coated everything.  Schools were closed and roads were bad.

Had to reschedule my hair appt. It wasn't worth taking a chance.  I'm very thankful we didn't lose power and no fallen trees or large limbs fell on our property.  That's a blessing. Smiley Happy

So far, we are fine.  It is 25 degrees in our area.  We got ice, but didn't lose electricity or water and praying it stays that way.  Have only gone outside with Willow who is definitely not a fan of this cold.  We are supposed to go to a luncheon today, but waiting for a status report from neighbors on NextDoor about the roads.

Hope everyone is safe, but please check in.

I live 20 minutes away from Pittsburgh, in WV, and we lost power for 24 hours. I'm on O2 with a converter, used every portable I had, was planning to call to be transfered to hospital, and found out they didn't have electricity either. Told my Son when it went out, to go to bed Id be fine,as they said it would come on in 2  1/2 hours. Got a little nervius here, but when Son found out in the morning he was here pronto. Took my converter and me to his house. 24 hours later electric was back on. In the mean time he and his wife and neighbor shut off my water and drained the lines, and both freezers cleaned out, and frozen either saved or discarded. Normally this would not have bothered me ,I would have gone to bed, but the O2 was frightening.I've ordered extra tanks just in case this would happen again I'd have plenty of reserve. Today my Kids are going to the store to replace what I've lost.Mon Power and the fire dept. kept texting me to see if I was okey. Really appreciated them.
