I cut up all my credit cards (several years ago). I pay by cash/check. If I don't have the money I don't get it.

Shipping and handling fees come from both the processing of packaing and labeling and the shipping costs. When you package one item, the others don't all jump in by themsleves, they're also handled. And shipping fees depend on weight. The added items increase the weight and the shipping.
It costs more to ship boxes with one item in each than to bundle, so a reduced total shipping fee would be nice if all the items go into one box, but I don't think that's determined until they actually pack and ship the items. The system that charges you for the order doesn't know that the items will go in one box and ship together because QVC so seldom does that.

Now that I'm home a lot more, I need less, and therefore buy less.

I find not watching at all, and unsubscribe from their emails, has helped me the most. If I don't know they have something I'd want, then I don't want to buy it. I just have enough jewelry and make-up. If I need to add to my wardrobe I go out and get something so I don't have to lay shipping to try something on, or return, too.

I think a lot of people get to the point of “how much more do I need?”. Whether for yourself or for your home.
I do sit back once in awhile and.think about all the things I have donated or just trashed over the years. I think you just get tired of stuff. Do we need new? Most of the time, probably not.
-A good example is swimsuits. Why do we feel the need to buy a new one each year? Mine is usually in good shape by the end of one summer. But, I have only gone a few summers without buying a new one in my entire life! Why? (So laughing😂!)-
I am trying to justify my purchases more in the past few years for sure.

13 years ago I took care of my dad before he passed. We were talking together and I asked him if I could buy him something to cheer him up. He laughed and told me he was very happy with what he had and needed nothing. My taking care of him was the best gift I could give him. I remember thinking I would never get to that place...I loved stuff too much.
Well, here it is 13 years later and I feel the same as my dad. I am very content with how blessed I am to have everything I need.

Been frugal since my first job when I was 8 years old. I pretty much have stuck with "buying what I need, not what I think I might want". That was over 70 years ago.

That is why it is called SHIPPING AND HANDLING..... you are paying not just the shipping costs... but the HANDLING cost of the job of getting the order together... packaging the order and sending it on it's way.
So when they ship two or three things together... they are not charging you for only shipping... someone is being PAID a salary by QVC to put the order together in the warehouse and prepare the order for shipping. YOU are paying that salary.
There are plenty of business that offer free shipping AND coupons and/or rebates to offset the cost of shipping if there ever is any... QVC rarely or never does this... it is part of their INCOME. Finding ways to make the customer pay more and give them nothing back except for easy pay... what a joke LOL!

@hckynut It is a "MAN THING" one deodorant... one shampoo( you only buy more when you are totally out....) I am married to such a "guy"! We compliment one another as he hardly needs anything except his expensive phone to be happy... I on the other hand am VERY NEEDY... if there were two of me we would be in trouble
On the other hand if there were two of him, nothing would get done around the house... new fences, new decks.... updating the home. He is just happy with the way things are. Not me!

Like QVC too but just need to think more about my purchases. Does this make sense.
I hear what you're saying .... BUT ..... if you purchase two items, each weighing 6 ounces each, the postage is calculated (most of the time) on weight.
Putting those two 6 oz items in one box still gives a total weight of 12 ounces. The weight doesn't go down when putting them both in one box.
