I will say Target has nice clean stores.  I don't shop there because they don't have everything I need, then I need to make more stops after going there.  I only go if there's something in the ad that is a really, really good price.  Then you try to pay and the lines are crazy long.  I prefer Wal-Mart.

Not yet but it could be that they are starting in certain geographical areas.  The womens clothing area really needs more room.  I will welcome the change.  Cat Happy

My Target store always matches the online price for the same merchandise. We've always had an optical department.

I used to do 90% of my grocery shopping at Target, now it's less than 5%.

The variety of grocery items has really decreased over the past few years. Target seems to favor certain brands.

When need household items or small kitchen appliances I still go to Target.

Just a guess but target may be doing away with their jewelry section because of competition from Charming Charlie.

Charming Charlie is less expensive, has a lot more to choose from and most of it is available online.

I wish there was a Target around where I live. closest one is a good 30-45 minutes either north of me or south of me.  Walmart is all we have that is close.

I like Target, stores are very clean and orderly. they carry some products that Walmart does not sell.

I agree with you about the crammed in clothing section- it is awful! I do buy their cami tank tops when they go on sale but they never have the selection of colors instore like they do online so I buy them online and usually have them shipped to me for free (or store pickup is always free) . Super cheap,  nice selection of interesting colors, comfortable and great for layering. Other than that, I don't buy clothes from there.

I much prefer target over walmart, always have. It is always cleaner and just a different, more relaxed and friendly vibe.

I haven't noticed any changes in my Target though but, again, perhaps that is because I hardly ever go and don't really pay attention.  I do like to buy things online from them because sometimes they are cheaper than other places and I can just stop by and have it already ready to go. That is a nice perk.

I've been in my local Target twice, I think, in over 15 years. It's a depressing store with no focus. Whatever you need, whatever you're looking for, they either don't have or the stock is picked over and thin and the price isn't good. It's the red retail wasteland, IMO.

I've never understood the appeal of this store, and the security issues of a couple of years back further unsold me on it. I will say its online incarnation is great, and I plan to order there, but I'll buy a Target gift card at my supermarket to do it. Don't trust them to handle or secure my data. I know this has happened to other stores, but combined with the cold, unappealing, hit-or-miss nature of the Target near me, I don't trust them to have spent the money to make our data secure. At least a gift card limits losses.

Gosh, I love Target. I'm there all the time. There are three close enough to me. Two of them have the grocery store in them. The one closest to me is a regular Target, with just some groceries.  The one by me doesn't have a pharmacy or optical. It doesn't have a Starbucks in it either. It's my favorite of the three Targets.

They're well lit, clean, usually well stocked. I buy all sorts of things there- toilet paper, Kleenex, Bounty, shampoo, other household items.  Seasonal things. They have terrific greeting cards. Toys. You name it. I shop for it there.

Ours rarely has long lines.

I look for reasons to go there. It's a pleasant shopping experience.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I'm pretty sure no one lost money because of the Target hack.  They immediately promised to cover any loss.

I order often and use their Red Card, everything ordered immediately gets a 5% discount on the purchase and free shipping.

Your Target sounds like an anomaly. I've been to a lot of Targets and none were a mess or low on stock.  We have 4 nearby with a 5th opening soon.

I am not sure if they improved, but the + size department was so small.

It's been almost non-existent in every Target I've shopped in, SoCal or NorCal, for at least 7-8 years. I used to find cute, decently made and inexpensive summer and casual clothes there, but not for a long time. It's 1-2 very small racks or shelves now. For a while, they even stopped carrying larger underwear altogether; now I see some. But as they have been (unless that changes), I consider them to "not carry" plus size goods and no longer bother to look.

I do like their ever-expanding grocery area, and I like many of their Archer Farms products.
