Change in cancelling orders???

The past couple times I've tried cancelling either an entire order or part of an order the very next day after placing the order;  I see the message order in process cannot cancel.  I was really frustrated with this so I called customer service to ask about it.  The representative was very nice and she said that many people wanted orders to be processed faster thus the new message.   I mentioned that since the "merger" with HSN this is one thing that is just like HSN.   If you don't cancel an order by midnight of day you laced the order you cannot cancel it.    I told QVC representative it would be nice if this is indeed a new requirement with QVC orders; then they need to let people know.

I learned this the hard way via HSN.  So if QVC is going (as it seems they have) like HSN in this area; then when you place an order; make sure you really wnat it.   If you change your mind the next day it looks you'll be unable to cancel an entire or partial order. So be sure you the item ordered is something you really want or you may not be able to make changes and/or cancel the very next day.   I'm trying to be careful since I don't want any unnecessary visits to the post office.

@Aresnz: I suggest that you cancel unwanted items before 11:00 PM Eastern time the SAME DAY.

Expecting to cancel an item the following day is unreasonable.

Yes, I noticed it last week.  The order locks down sometimes hours after ordering.  It's not the midnight thing that's been mentioned about HSN.

Re: Change in cancelling orders???

@Aresnz, that was  nice perk of the Q. Often times a review would come in before my order would ship and it would not be favorable. Then I liked the fact that I could cancel my order. However, I did notice a few weeks ago that I could not cancel an order the next day. So as you say make sure this is something that you really want before ordering.

Yes it has changed. Tried to cancel an item 3 hrs after purchase & couldn't, thought it was a glitch in the system so tried again around midnight & this morning too but received the same in process notice. Not happy about it & will return the item so it's a lose-lose. Before all the finger wagging starts, Yes I know should have been sure before placing the order but I simply changed my mind & tried to cancel promptly.

No it’s not unreasonable at all. QVC allowed us to cancel orders the next day all the time.  I appreciated that.  Now that I see the policy has changed I’ll be sure to cancel an order the same day should I change my mind.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Unless they are having a special event like gold rush day and then good luck trying to cancel by 11.

Anyone know if advanced orders be affected by the cancel by "midnight same day" policy?

Re: Change in cancelling orders???

Posters complain bitterly that orders shouldn't remain in process and then complain just as indignantly when they move through the system too fast.
