Census worker just stopped by

I thought the census was finished?

I'm not sure what was the point of this person's visit.  She already knew that no one on our street was living here on April 1st.  It's a new community.   The first residents moved in mid May and we had already filled out census forms where we lived previously.

I told her that....she checked off something on her clipboard.   It's a nice evening and she seemed to be enjoying her job and her walk around the neighborhood!

The pandemic has affected the dates for the census.

Re: Census worker just stopped by

I did it when I got it in the mail months back and one of the options was to fill out online which I did.  I came home last week to someone at my door as I was pulling into garage (an older guy with a government Census picture badge).   I was given an OMB government flyer describing the process.  Afterward thought that may be a scam but he'd left - but I did call the website online for the Census and was told that it was real.  I'm guessing filling it out online it may have had a transmission error.

Hi @september

The census is scheduled to be over September 30, which is one month sooner than it was supposed to end.

Sounds like you had a nice visit with the census worker.

She was very friendly, and somewhat apologetic, since she had already learned from my neighbors that we're new residents who already responded to the census at our previous addresses.

but she had a job to do, and she was doing it!

Re: Census worker just stopped by

I did my census info online. Our neighborhood has been deluged with door-to-door sales people trying to seek everything from TV providers to roofs and security systems. Some don’t take no for an answer very easily. We don’t answer the door unless we are expecting someone or we know the person. No census workers for us even if they come by.

I had a really nice lady that came by Sat.  She was actually from Calif.  I guess Nevada needs help.  Anyway I told her I would do it Sunday, which I did not lol I thought I would.  Anyway a nice guy came by today so we filled it out at the door.  Only took a few minutes.  Not sure why I never sat down and did it.  Anyway its done nowSmiley Happy  He did say more people may come by, I guess there is a delay.  Anyway I can now tell them I did it lol
