No, not me who received a survey. Someone else in the above posts, if I recall.

I don't have any problem with the Census...........just as long as everyone answers all of the questions and all of the questions/forms are the same. I can't help myself in thinking that the same forms for everyone would be the most accurate if everyone is truthful. Just pop the forms into the computer, etc. And all of the statistics will pop out fairly correct, more or less. Can't help thinking this way. It makes sense (to me).

I agree.

Lots of it is generic data, but when the government sells your data, and they've admitted that it is, then I reserve the right to not answer. The number of bathrooms we have is already known for this address so answering yet again is silly. On 1/10/2015 scotttie said:Hi Circles,
I get what you are saying.
If I remember correctly the last time there were some questions on there that were none of their business.
How many people are in your household is sufficient.
Well, they need to know the ages of children so they can plan ahead for building (or closing) schools. How many cars tells them if they need to spend money on roads, or public transport. Lots of the questions have a purpose and aren't just prying.

Is it your towns census?
Irishgrl it is me who started this thread and no its not a town census....the envelope reads
Director..US CENSUS BUREAU THEN THE PO BOX AND THEN JEFFERSONVILLE IN.....
postage will be paid by the census bureau....
a few weeks ago I received...by mail...that I could do this online and if I didn't they would be sending me the long form by mail...and that's exactly what they did...it arrived yesterday or the day before....I have been angry ever since...

lol!! You would have been better off if you had done it, but I am the same with stuff like that. I put it off a little too long. Another poster asked me if this is legit since the census is in 2020 but this is from the website. https://ask.census.gov/faq.php?id=5000&rtopic=2100

So this census is a sub-test in only certain parts of the country?
The 2015 Census Test is designed to measure how well a variety of new technologies and census-taking operations work. It is not being conducted to obtain an accurate count of the test areas. The results of this test could help us significantly improve how the census is conducted throughout the country in 2020.

In my genealogical research, I discovered that there were in fact off year census records as well as the usual decade ones. It may have been only in certain states. I can't remember. All I can say is the practice occurred throughout our history, and I don't recall that anyone put up a fuss about it. It's important for a lot of reasons, all probably already mentioned in this thread and certainly not conspiratorial.
