I can't think of a better way for planners to get info so government can function. Ideas?

More equal. p.s. I helped a senior neighbor around the corner fill out her long, long form (years ago). My gosh............they wanted to know just about everything. Her electric/gas bills expenses per month, etc. I'm thinking that if they want to help all seniors and others, they should just advertise it on TV and have them apply for assistance.
that's what my form wanted to know....how much money comes into the house...what I get for s.s......what is my rent...am I on any assistance....how much is my gas and electric bill...how many rooms in my place...I was expecting them to ask what their size was and then I would have to get out my tape measure....ridiculous!!!!
God help me if I owned my own home I would have to give the lot size, too....I guess I would have to get a surveyor out here....lol....
what business it of them how much my utilities are...will they be picking up the tab...asking way too many questions that are none of their business...
oh, I forgot...they wanted to know if I had a phone and if it was from a cable company or whatever...also did I use a laptop....tablet...etc...and does it get internet and how did I get that service....what a bunch of K R A P.....

I haven't received anything to fill in and return. But, I don't have anything to hide.......

I agree, Noel and all. But, shouldn't everyone have the same form in order for the census to be completely (more or less) accurate? I really don't understand (in my mind) the accuracy if/when not everyone receives the same form.

Let's just say, by sheer luck, that the long forms were sent to primarily non-divorced, wealthy people. Wouldn't that throw the accuracy in that area off? Consider all variables. Just curious.

I filled out the long form at least twice, to my recollection.
Other than that, it was the short form. During the last census, we got the short form and filled it out and turned it back in.
The long form is a hassle, but it does benefit your community if you fill it out.

I get what you are saying.
If I remember correctly the last time there were some questions on there that were none of their business.
How many people are in your household is sufficient.
Well, they need to know the ages of children so they can plan ahead for building (or closing) schools. How many cars tells them if they need to spend money on roads, or public transport. Lots of the questions have a purpose and aren't just prying.

I understand what all of you are saying and I wish I felt better about this but I have so much anger in me right now...and I can't seem to shake free of it...even though I did fill it out and I will mail it Monday....
I do appreciate all the info you all have provided....
If you're that ticked off don't send it.no, can't do that....don't want to be arrested...I am too old to sit in the clink....(73)....lol
I hardly think the feds will throw a 73 year old woman in the clink for failure to fill out a census form.
