I have a friend who I love dearly but she is one of those addicted to phone people.  Despite telling her repeatedly that I do not like it when she spends her time on the phone when we are out at a restaurant, she is so addicted that she does it anyway.

I once saw a terriffic cartoon in the New Yorker that showed a flying saucer hovering low over the city.

There were two aliens in the cockpit window, and one was saying to the other  "Will you RELAX!!  I told you they never look up!

@781Florist Welcome!🥰 I am STILL laughing at your HILARIOUS post as I type this one!😂😂😂😂 I LOVE❤ it!😂

I think it is so KIND of you to continue to dine with her, despite her obvious refusal to consider your feelings and respect the friendship. You are  a TRUE friend, but even true friends have their limits!❤

THANK you SO much for caring to share your experience this evening!🤗

There is a young mother in my neighborhood that walks her dog, pushes a stroller and text all at the same time and it is all the time.  I just shake my head everytime I see her.

This discussion reminds me of something my grandmother use to say

"You are sure to find wherever you are looking for, especially something negative."  Taught me to look for the positive in the world around me.

My husband and I went to Target to pick up some wine that we like on sale.  We went down the wine aisle and there was another woman right ahead of us and then ahead of her (closely) was a young woman (probably no more than 19 or 20) with her shopping cart and talking on her cell phone.  The lady ahead of us was trying to reach around her and can tell she was being nice and trying not to "interupt"her.  Then the lady said excuse me and the 19/20 year old lashed out.  Very loudly saying, "WHAT!!!" like she was being bothered.  I just can't believe people sometimes.

@ScrapHappy

I would have cut Miss 19 or 20 year old down to size quickly.

I dont use a cell unless it is an emergency, mine remains in my purse turned off, I am happy when out of the house to not be on a phone, my landline is for that .  I also find it rude when I am relaxing in my nail salon and have to listen to everyone's conversations around me, it really is an addiction for some, and I cant stand to see those fingers moving sending constant texts.

Re: Cellphone RUDENESS!!😐

I believe that the cellphone rudeness is rampant, but in the grocery store it could be used for different things. However, there is no need to be rude to the fellow shoppers.

I always have my list in the Notes Section on my phone, which I will look at several times, while shopping, and then I delete things off my phone as I make the purchases. I do make a point of trying to pull over for lack of a better term in the store, if I need to look at it.

Sometimes, I use my cellphone to see if another store has something that I want if I think the current price being asked is ridiculous.

Today, while shopping at Walmart, I used it to look up "Chard" which I had never heard of. I still ended up not purchasing it because they did not sell it.

Re: Cellphone RUDENESS!!😐

What you wrote so reminded me of when I was working at a super market and I was in the deli department and I had been there a while and some one was calling deli numbers and a woman stept forward it was her turn and she was on her cell phone and when she was asked what she wanted she kept putting up her finger and saying wait a minute. Like five times and told the person that was waiting on her to call the next number so when he called the next number the woman said I was being waited and on.I said to her your to busy on your phone so now you can wait until another number is called. My thing is the woman she have had the person she was talking to .to hold on while she told deli clerk what she wanted. This was like 20 years ago. I have seen alot ofe people once every cellphones being rude.

@Pink123  the guy had no insurance? I don't understand why insurance couldn't help your friend's daughter if she was covered. The accident wasn't her fault.

Our car was totalled in an accident and we got reimbursed for the value of the wrecked car. Something in that situation doesn't sound right. I hope none of them were injured.

Nope @teganslaw  he ran away from the accident ASAP. How can you find a runaway with no name who leaves everything??? Alot in Miami don't carry insurance.

He left the wife with 4 children right on the street on the scene.

@SandySparkles  That guy is a j-e-r-k for not opening the door for you, lovely Sandy Sparkles! I genuinely think that chivalry is dead sometimes and cellphones make it worse.  Story time: years ago in my late 20's I got onto a packed bus and a guy was sitting in the aisle seat using his i-phone and he was lazy and wanted me to squeeze by or crawl over his legs to sit down in the seat next to him Smiley FrustratedSmiley Surprised.  The nerve of him!! I said, "Excuse me, may you please stand up for me?" He scoffed at me and pivoted slightly while looking at his dumb i-phone, but I still couldn't get through- so you know what I did? I sat on his lap on purpose Smiley LOL.  He screamed and said, "Get off of me, sit over there!" I said, "I could've done just that if you let me through!"

@Nightowlz  Those women should thank your lovely DH for holding doors open!  Whenever a guy holds a door open for me while other men push and cut ahead of me, I make sure to say out loud, "Thank you, you're such a gentleman- they're rare these days!" Smiley Very HappySmiley Wink
