@monicakm Welcome!🥰 I am not out and about much because our weather has not been favorable enough for me here in the PNW, but now it is the time of year when we start having some BEAUTIFUL❤ spring days, with plush green foliage and abundant fragrant flowers EVERYWHERE, so I venture out more and enjoy the plentiful sunshine🌞; though today is typical overcast with rain!😁
I think many people are still respectful!🥰 This is relating to those who are NOT and how their rudeness and lack of social graces affects us.😊
THANK you SO much for caring to share your perspective!🤗

@monicakm wrote:I know they would never make it a law, nor should they even though it would be a good one but I wish people could use common sense and courtesy and put their cell phones away when they're out and about. Yes I have mine Wherever I Go but I'm not looking at it or talking on it while eating out or driving or walking through a parking lot where I'm likely to get ran over if I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing or where I'm going. In a big city scenario it just seems like an accident waiting to happen.
@monicakm Welcome back!🥰 There are a few texting and driving laws etc, but how can they realistically enforce all of them?😊 Sadly, accidents are happening with lives lost sometimes due to cellphone distracted driving!😔 It is just an unfortunate reality of our time.🙁
I WHOLEHEARTEDLY concur with your statement❤, and THANK you SO much for caring to revisit and share your additional perspective!🤗

The last (I should have said FINAL) time I went to lunch with "the girls"....they each set up their phones on stands at the table. There was absolutely NO conversation before we paid the bill and left.
If I want to eat alone....I'd rather do it in front of my TV. di
@Desertdi Welcome back!🥰 😂😂 I can CERTAINLY understand! With that level of rudeness, I would NOT have wanted to ever dine with them again!!😊 I struggle to understand how good FRIENDS can be that way; though I realize they did not intentionally set out to be rude. They are just victims of a tech obsessed society.😐
THANK you SO much for caring to revisit with a correction!🤗

The door swung back; HARD!!😡 While he certainly was NOT obligated to, it would have been appreciated!😁 Whenever I am on an elevator these days, most people NEVER even look up from their screen!😐 It is like zombie nation!😁 A simple greeting is a foreign concept!
I am curious to know your THOUGHTS or experiences!

Not a big deal in my book and certainly not worth a second thought. You should have been watching the door too, even if your hands were full.
@CalminHeart Welcome!🥰 I appreciate your perspective!❤ I was looking ahead, but as he proceeded out the door with phone in hand looking down, he was using his body weight against the door as he was exiting, which people do, but generally allow you to pass by, or hold the door. He let go and there was literally no reaction time with my hands full as it happened so abruptly.😊
I mentioned in a previous post with another poster that I will be more mindful in the future.👍😊 I also mentioned in my opening statement that he was not OBLIGATED to, but it would have been appreciated!🥰
THANK you SO much for caring to share your perspective today!🤗

@lynnie61 wrote:@SandySparkles I didn't tell the customer the part, order and let them wait. No, I'm not THAT brave. I just tell them I will get your order when they are off the phone. Haha.
@lynnie61, I was working in a very nice place w/ a very brisk lunch business. Lots of people on lunch breaks w/ little time to spare.
I would say "Next!", and skip over someone engrossed on their phone.
You wouldn't believe how quickly they'd hang up! They'd have zero sympathy from the other customers.
@sabatini Welcome!🥰 I could not help but tell you how delightful it was to read this post!😊 I nodded in agreement because I would NOT have felt ANY sympathy for those rude customers either!😁
THANK you SO much for caring to share!🤗

In Japan it is illegal to use a phone while walking.

@SandySparkles I thought about you today. I was in the grocery stare and the cashier was on his phone. I didn't see his earbuds so I thought he was talking to me! Apparently he was trying to set up a date. I asked him if he didn't mind if he could call her back and attend to me an my high priced groceries. I told him it's a very expensive idea to be grocery shopping and I need him to pay close attention. I told him if I have to come back for ANY reason it won't be fun, I promise. He did hang up and continued my transaction. He even went back into the store to replace a can of dented beans. After we were done he said thank you and I said your welcome!
the assistant manager stopped me on my way out and asked me what happened. I told him we had a little misunderstanding and it was resolved. I'm hoping that my patience with him will render better behavior with him. Probably not, but in my head I want to think so!

I always wonder who are all of these people that everyone is talking or texting?
When I walk my dog I sometimes run into the same people everyday that are talking on the phone while they're walking.
Gosh, I like to talk, but I would very easily run out of things to talk about every single day for long amounts of time!

@mormel20 @I hadn't thought about that....thanks for pointing that out!

Oh my, @SandySparkles I get it. I've been rear ended in my car twice by a texter who smashed it. So now we went to drinking but now it's texting and it is real.
Any one in a large city on the I-95 east corridor knows most accidents are caused by people on the phone. Every day.
I sold my good car and stopped driving the highways. One the second accident I had recently had an abdominal surgery with my seatbelt on and it hit me hard right there in my gut. Unreal.
My friend's daughter got hit with her 4 children in the car. He ran out of it and took off. Had no insurance whatsoever. Her car was totalled and so insurance did not help her.
