@SandySparkles I mean that literally.  I hate to stand in line and have some old guy yapping at me, usually complaining.  I act like I can't hear, but now they are all on their cell phones.  Woman Happy

Re: Cellphone RUDENESS!!😐

@SandySparkles  It's clearly an obsession with people and they do turn into zombies. I've witnessed it over and over in stores. It's like they stop dead in their tracks and could care less if they are blocking the aisle or not. What on earth can be THAT important. Nothing! In your case it is also a case of no manners. What happened to being a gentleman and holding the door? That never NEVER gets old and is always appreciated. 😉

@SaveTheTurtles Welcome!🥰 Yes...Yes...and...Yesss!! I could not agree more!😁 I was quite stunned! It was just SO unexpected, but I will be MIUCH more mindful now, so perhaps it was a lesson for me as well!❤

THANK you SO much for caring to share such a thoughtful post this evening!🤗

Re: Cellphone RUDENESS!!😐

I find people mostly considerate in these situations but I'm not out and about in the world every day.

Re: Cellphone RUDENESS!!😐

I know they would never make it a law, nor should they even though it would be a good one but I wish people could use common sense and courtesy and put their cell phones away when they're out and about. Yes I have mine Wherever I Go but I'm not looking at it or talking on it while eating out or driving or walking through a parking lot where I'm likely to get ran over if I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing or where I'm going.  In a big city scenario it just seems like an accident waiting to happen.

@SandySparkles

The last (I should have said FINAL) time I went to lunch with "the girls"....they each set up their phones on stands at the table.    There was absolutely NO conversation before we paid the bill and left.

If I want to eat alone....I'd rather do it in front of my TV.     di

I thought of a recent interaction with a young man who was so FIXATED on his cellphone that he he did not hold a door for me and my hands were full! The door swung back; HARD!!😡 While he certainly was NOT obligated to, it would have been appreciated!😁 Whenever I am on an elevator  these days, most people NEVER even look up from their screen!😐 It is like zombie nation!😁 A simple greeting is a foreign concept!

I am curious to know your THOUGHTS or experiences!

Not a big deal in my book and certainly not worth a second thought. You should have been watching the door too, even if your hands were full.

@Desertdi Welcome!🥰 WOW!😮 I was SHOCKED as I read your post because these ladies are not the younger, tech addicted/distracted generation; though I know it is happening across the board!🙁 Because I am not on my phone much, I was really not aware of how PERVASIVE this issue had become until recently while speaking with others.😐

I LOVE❤ your outlook: If I want to eat alone....I'd rather do it in front of my TV.     di

THANK you SO much for caring to share your experience; it made me smile!🤗

Re: Cellphone RUDENESS!!😐

I have a friend who I love dearly but she is one of those addicted to phone people.  Despite telling her repeatedly that I do not like it when she spends her time on the phone when we are out at a restaurant, she is so addicted that she does it anyway.

I once saw a terriffic cartoon in the New Yorker that showed a flying saucer hovering low over the city.

There were two aliens in the cockpit window, and one was saying to the other  "Will you RELAX!!  I told you they never look up!
