Ok - my pet peeve: cell phone usage in a public restroom! Not only is it extremely annoying to be a "captive audience" to someone else's conversation but I also feel as if MY privacy is being invaded. I don't want someone on the other end of the line being able to hear myself or anyone else in the restroom. There is also the chance that they are using "face time" and can see as well! I just think this is so rude, but maybe it's just me. I think so many people are inconsiderate everywhere with their cell phones. Just tacky to to me. Am I being old fashioned or do you think I have a legitimate gripe?

I don't like it in public anywhere ... especially a bathroom.

No you are not being old fashioned...it's tacky and in very poor taste to talk on the phone while doing your business in the restroom - especially a public one...not mentioning the germs that are added to your phone as if it isn't already exposed to enough germs throughout the day..but to deliberately expose it to restroom germs is just..ewww....ewwww...ewwww!

I think all cell phone calls sound like they originate from a restroom.

It's crude to me but then I am sure critics would say I am an old lady with provincial ideas about etiquette in general...

Seems a good percentage of people have lost sensibility and common courtesy with cellphone usage. No, olive, you aren't being old fashioned and have a legitimate gripe.

Tennessee is trying to get a only hands free law when behind the wheel of a vehicle - I sure hope it goes through. I'd love to see hands free for the entire United States.

most people do not practice cell phone etiquette.......I have no patience for those people and I will agree with serenity4ever.....I would probably be perceived about the provincial ideas as well, and I am proud of it.

It's just disgusting. Plus, it's risky - it might fall into the toilet.

NY has had hands free for YEARS!

Illinois went hands free January 1. I don't know if it's being enforced or not.
