thanks for such great ( and some really funny!) responses. It's nice to be validated Smiley Happy Personally - even if I'm hands free while I'm driving I AM DISTRACTED. I'll only talk while driving if it's imperative that I do so. Otherwise it can wait.

I would prefer no cell calls, but a bathroom is preferable over taking calls inside a restaurant. Maybe all calls should be taken outdoors (no matter what the weather)?!?

{#emotions_dlg.lol} Outdoors doesn't help much. I can't tell you how many times I've almost been knocked down by people walking around outside, heads bent over their phones & not paying attention to where they're going. Good thing I am watching where they are going!

My mom is elderly, and I call her most nights. A friend asked why I didn't just call her on my way home from work! I said I only use my phone in the car for emergencies. She says "but you have bluetooth!" Apparently her drive home from work is used for catching up on phone calls. No thank you. Hands-free or not, it's still distracting and I won't do it unless I have no other choice.

Funny topic. This is something that just does not bother me, so much so I wonder why it bothers other people. I just don't care what the other person is doing, I am in my space and they are in their's. If they can hear me doing "things", well, so be it. I'ts a bathroom not a garden party.

Good for you! I wish everybody thought like you.

I guess I'll never understand why, in the vast majority of cases, some people absolutely HAVE to be attached to their phone every single second. I was with somebody, out to lunch, one day and her phone kept ringing. She kept answering - no emergencies, just yapping. When it wasn't ringing she was checking it. During one long phone call I just walked out (yes I left money to cover my part plus tip). I cannot believe how rude and inconsiderate a lot of people are.

While I do not like having to listen to anybody's personal conversation, I would much rather listen to them talk on their cell phone then listen to them do their 'business..' it is hard not to hear whatever is going on the stall next to you..{#emotions_dlg.scared}

My car has the blue tooth also and I do use it. The car automatically syncs to my phone when it starts. My phone screen appears on the car's display.

I have a commute and do use the bluetooth function of the car often for work and home.

Phone rings and with a click of the steering wheel the call comes over the car. It is also voice activated to make calls ..!

I can't stand people walking around Grocery Shopping chatting away LOUDLY on their phone..more so when they have the bluetooth in their ear lol..and a few times I have seen people with the phone on speaker..and holding it and chatting away..now louder then usual since they are holding it.

One time I was in Mavis Tire and somebody was doing that..dead quiet and the person is sitting there with phone on speaker, not a care in the world..chatting away - the entire place could hear her conversation.

Do people who despise hearing cellphone calls so much also mind hearing any conversations? Do you not talk to your passengers while driving? Wonder if some of the uproar is because people don't like hearing only half of the conversation, especially an interesting one. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

Personally, I don't like loud talkers no matter if they're on a cellphone or talking to a companion. I don't mind anyone talking in any manner at an appropriate volume. Conversations in a bathroom? Don't have a problem with it, everyone has to go, it's life (sounds included).

Every time I grocery shop, there are people yaking on their cell phones. The drive their carts like they drive cars while using the phone...they don't pay attention and are bumping into things and people. What is so darn important that won't wait until they get home?

My pet peeve is cellphone usage anywhere! They are SO annoying in grocery stores, restaurants, stores in general, and don't even get me started about doctors offices, movie theatres, and while driving! I don't understand WHY people have to blab non stop on phones everywhere they go!
