would be reported immediately and repeated several times. But 30 minutes is a long time!!
mine did not last for 30 minutes. the phone maybe 30 seconds, the television maybe 60 seconds.

I knew it was coming but I was busy at work. I saw the alert on my phone a little after 5pm when I was heading home. Never heard a thing. My phone was silenced, on vibrate in my purse in a drawer.
I’ve received Amber & Silver Alerts and weather alerts for years.

I’ve turned our cellphones back on now and no text messages came through. The PNW is having problems apparently.

My alert came on at exactly 2:18 and 2:21 on the TVs. They lasted about 30 seconds. I hope I can recover quickly from this horribly traumatic experience.. SMH

DH and I did not get the phone alert because those settings are off. It did come on the TV.
This was being sent through at a Presidential Alert.
You cannot turn those off - only weather and amber alerts can be disabled.
On my LG there is even a system statement on the Emergency Alerts settings page that reads "Prediential alerts
Presidential alerts are always presented."
They cannot be turned off.

That is weird....my phone alert was short, but on my TV there was a written message in a bordered box that stated it was started at !2.20pm and would end 12:50pm. And exactly at that time, the TV shifted back to regular programming!!
