Did anyone get a cell phone call yesterday from 1-679-686-9599, United States? I tried to look up the number and get no results. I mean nothing. I always look up unknown numbers(yahoo search) just to see if it is a robocall or or some one that is legit. It surprised me when I got nothing. Never had one that said "United States". Could it have anything to do with todays alert?

The FEMA (test) alert was scheduled for today. It is a text alert. That's all I know.

I can't tell you how many calls I delete & BLOCK per day. If it isn't in my contacts, chances are, I do not know them. I never answer unknown numbers. Simple=DELETE/BLOCK

No I keep getting the credit card scam.
I received the IRS Scam this morning saying they would send the police to my house. LOL!!!
I kept getting calls from one area in the state that has 4 numbers he uses. He would call daily several times. I got tired of it. I finally answered & yelled WTH do you want Stop Calling & hung up on him. He has not called back. LOL!!!
Now I have the phone next to me so when a call comes in if I don't recognize the number I press the answer button & immediately press the end call button. LOL!!! Do you think they will take the hint???

@grandma2pkmh......doubt it had anything to do about today's alert. More likely a scam call. Like another post has said on here.....I hit the call block button, then delete the call..... There's not a day that goes by that I don't get these kinds of calls. They just use a different number once the call has been blocked....hoping that I will answer. No way.....

I only answer known numbers. All my contacts, including doctors, each have specific ringtones/songs. If I hear the standard ringtone, I don't even bother looking.
Later I will add the number to an block list.

@Nightowlz Probably not! Here's one for ya. I have 3 different phone number exchanges, depending on whether it's my work phone, home landline, or cell phone. When the scammers call, they always hijack a number that begins with whatever exchange is the same as that particular phone. I laugh at them because it's become so obvious when I see a whole list of them on my ID, with only the last 4 digits different.
Imagine my aggravation when I checked my ID at home and found 12 of the same phone numbers on it.......all my own number with my own name listed as the caller. Right after I saw that, my phone rang again, and there it was on my phone ID and on my TV screen.......I was calling myself. They had hijacked my own phone number and used it to call me! I started getting these calls every hour, and was getting really ticked, so I found out how to block the number and did it. I literally had to block my own phone number!

We have received calls from our number too. Seriously everyone knows you cannot call yourself. LOL!!!
Coming across the TV screen comes in handy.
