👩🏾‍⚕️ Medicare & You 2019 💊

[ Edited ]

MedicareAndYou2019.jpgReceived my booklet in the mail last week.  Will read through it (my county's section) this weekend for the "changes" coming in the next 2 yrs.

Re: 👩🏾‍⚕️ Medicare & You 2019 💊

only thing I heard was premium was going to 135 in Jan

Suppose  to get 2.4% increase in SS too.

don't know if either is correct, but, my drug plan is jumping up and I'm

looking to change it since I really don't take that many pills (1)

I received mine too but haven’t read it yet.

Since I’m new to Medicare, are there changes every year? Just curious.

I received mine too, just glossed over it but I got my new book from my Medicare Advantage HMO I signed up with.   Co-pays going down and I get a $50 allowance every quarter for OTC meds.   There's a link to see the list but I've been unable to download it.  But I am required to take Vit D & calcium and that will help.   It's not expensive but every little bit helps.

It's a zero premium plan

Yes, on the Federal, State & County levels as well as w/the insurance carriers.  It all depends on which ins companies are allowed to accept clients in your State and/or counties.  Medicare & You booklets are personalized to YOU & your domicile.

@software......you have an HMO.....which means if you need to see a specialist that you have to have a referral before you can see a specialist.  Also, I believe (not so sure on this) that the amount of your deductible is quite high.

I have a PPO, and see any doctor I wish that is a specialist as long as they take Medicare patients without having to have a referral.  And, I have no co-pay to pay.  Walk into my doctors office, see my doctor, get my blood work, get my cancer treatment, and walk out without ever having to pay anything.  Have been so blessed with the coverage I have.  Excellent supplemental.

My prescription coverage is separate.  Now that's a different story.  Thank goodness the meds I take are not too awfully expensive.  The only thing that hit me hard was when I had to get expensive eye drops for the swelling behind each eye due to the cancer treatment I was on.  Thank goodness that is all normal now and I only have to go back to the retina special in 6 months from the last visit.  And do not need to take any special drops any more.

There is a big difference between an HMO and PPO.

You say it is a zero premium plan......but some where along the way, it will cost you.

Get used to it OKPrincess, it comes faithfully every year at this time.  It is a royal pain and we are a captive audience.  Welcome to the world of senior citizens.  Woman Wink

Re: 👩🏾‍⚕️ Medicare & You 2019 💊

My husband hasn't gotten his book yet. I'm not on Medicare yet.

When we receive it, I recycle the one we have and keep the new one, but I've never even opened the booklet to see what it says.

We've never needed to use it.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
