Not trying to be mean, to be honest, I've kinda of seen a lot of people who are not interested in this story posting on the threads.   Just curious why.

*shrugs* Sorry, truth hurts.  Again, not trying to be mean

As for me, I got the gist of what happened with Cecil.I wouldn't read the "details" here, or anywhere.  I know what happened and that is enough.  It is too painful for me.  I actually get sick.  I support my animal rescues and different causes, but I will not look at pictures of hurt, maimed or starving animals.  I turn the channel when I even see the ASPCA commercials.  You can't get those pictures out of your head.  It haunts me too much.  I know what goes on , I spent too many years in animal rescue.  I can't take it any more.  I actually contribute finacially to rescues, and will help with the disabled or old kitties, but that is as far as I go actually dealing with animal rescue. It is like PTSD, the images flash in my head, and it is too painful

But personally I think that those who want to discuss it, should.  The discussion should go on until these autrocities have ended, and should continue long after , so as to not begin again

shoekitty,

I have a great deal of respect for you knowing you have done rescues, and certainly know the pain of the images.  There are things I will never forget, but somehow the need to try and do SOMETHING keeps me going.  Much appreciation for what you have done and continue to do.

There HAVE to be people in the trenches. Nothing ever gets done when people talk, without performing the task that need to be done..I call it. talk without task  I appreciate those that do the work that is unpleasant  to many. It NEEDS to be done.  Thank you!

A local pub called 83 Degrees hired two artists to create this beautiful mural to honor Cecil. The owner of the pub grew up in Kenya.

Gee, the ol' killer dentist sure isn't grinning now.....

Both the American and Zimbabwean governments are considering legal action against Palmer

Now he knows what it feels like to be hunted....but he doesn't have a crossbow arrow stuck in his flank.

In 2008, Palmer pleaded guilty to felony charges of making false statements to the US Fish and Wildlife Service

Hoping he will be looking over his shoulder for a very, very, very long time and realize what it's like being hunted.

Also hoping that his business tanks, the sooner the better.

I read that Zimbabwe alone brings in an average of 20 million dollars a year for hunting.  South Africa over 700,000 and Africa as a whole around 100,000,000.  They are not giving that up because a bunch of neurotic Americans don't like.   I wouldn't even be surprised if the 'arrest' was fake just to appease tourists, they lifted the hunting ban less than 2 weeks after Cecil was killed.  While he was an attraction, a lot of locals never even heard of him. The fact that he was radio collared make it a shame for research. What about the 700 other lions that were killed?  Amazing what giving a lion a name will do.

Also when you are hunting predators, you bait them, people act like they targeted Cecil, any lion could have followed to the bait.  Watch a couple North Woods Law, they bait and kill bears all the time.

I personally don't think much of sport hunting, but it's been around for hundreds of years.  As long as it's profitable it will be for another 100 years.

Feel free to rant on, I know you will.  LOL

I love how one picture denotes what the guy is thinking.  Do you smile at every second?   I don't think he's a very honorable man, but this persecution is sicker than he is.
