This country is going to pot and all people are concerned with is some dead lion in a foreign country. I agree, OP!
Maybe if we had compassion and respect for helpless animals, there may be hope to treat fellow humans in the same way.

These Cecil threads have revealed so much about so many - and not all good. That's as far as I will go with this. Human nature never ceases to disappoint in some respects.
The world is going to pot, some say? Well, if compassion, thoughtfulness and reverence for life (of all kinds) were more prevalent and there was less "how does this affect me" and "I have a right to ...." attitudes, then perhaps it would be in much better shape.

Maybe if we had compassion for fellow man it would trickle down to include helpless animals.

Amen. I'm on Cecil overload. I think we've heard enough about Cecil and his family. It's naive to think this is an unusual case. Big game hunting happens everyday in Africa and around the world. It's the business of the country in which it occurs to control it.
SINCE THAT'S THE CASE, FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO DO INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING.
Exactly, but we all know kachina doesn't like animals
SAYS A LOT ABOUT HER, DOESN'T IT?

You still miss the point. All life is intricately related and one does not come before the other. Lack of respect for what this world provides us cannot lead to a harmonious world. As long as humans think they are above all else, there cannot be peace and enjoyment of what this life has to offer.
In this human created strife, humans may bring an end to human existence, but you can bet that nature will survive in one shape or another even if we don't.

One in the same, we have 2 legs and some have 4, 2 fins or wings...we are all created for a reason and deserve respect.
