Yum, carrot cake.

It is my husband’s favorite cake.

Have bought it at a few local grocery stores, and gotta say - ewwww.

Bought it from a couple good local bakeries here and yum! Neither of these bakeries

are cheap, but they have excellent cakes and pies for sure!

All depends what you like I guess, everyone has their own taste.

And, everyone has their own  price on what they will or won’t pay for something.

Have gotten a few food items from here, and yes, overpaid I think.

Never did ever reorder any of them.

And have not ordered any food items from here in several years now.

I would rather buy food locally at wherever I like it best.

I think this cake is a bargain and the reviews are mostly good.I looked at the ingredients and they are like its homemade and not filled with chemicals like most store bought stuff and other stuff on qvc...If i could eat wheat i would buy it in a heartbeat!....I cook all the time and bake but sometimes its nice to buy already made.

@Pqfan   Must be those raisings that make the cake expensive.  LOL

I"m not a big fan of carrot cake but I don't think the price is so bad.

Wait until the Martha Stewart hams turn up.

Fun times.

I’d rather spend money at a local bakery where the cakes aren’t mass produced and don’t need all the extra processing required to make them more stable to shipping and elements. Not to mention, less expensive and local.

I don’t understand why there is derision on somebody’s first post if it’s critical. We all start somewhere.

My grandmother made a cake she called Potato Cake.   It is sort of a spice cake with cocoa , pecans and a cup of mashed potatoes.   Has a butter cream frosting.

By the time I buy everything to make it and spend the time to make it , I'd gladly pay $58.00 for one IF it's 'homemade' and not full of crummy fake ingredients.

It is so good.

@Cakers3 I would love to have that cake!😋🥕In this instance it’s a good thing I can’t buy it because it would go right to my “but” like the other cakes did.😂

Maybe because of the derision OP used by calling buyers of the cake crazy.

If you like to bake and are good at it, you can whip up a carrot cake with butter cream/cream cheese frosting for about 8 bucks. Of course if you don't bake that's a different story, 58 bucks is too rich for my blood for a cake with preservatives in it.
