@proudlyfromNJ I think the Royals chose when and how they would appear in the press for a very long time. And I also believe that to some extent they still do - I think for example, William and Kate work to make their family accessible to the press as often and as well as they can.
It's certainly one way to satisfy the endless curiosity of the rest of the world without creating the aggressive behavior of the press that added to the dangers in Diana's life. Either that or there's a bit of morality among the papparazzi that I really don't credit them with.

Typical active little boy who had four days of celebrations. Boy is he handsome tho.

I was bored watching the parade, I cannot imagine how long and boring it must have been for a four year old.
I see children in church that can't sit still for an hour and the whole world isn't watching them on TV. They either need a video screen, a snack, a beverage or a bathroom trip.
The poor Duchess; she's damned if she disciplines in public and damned if she doesn't. Why doesn't anyone ask why Prince William didn't give more help.

@Somertime wrote:All this criticism of a four year old child! To expect a four year old with a minor attention spam to sit still through several hours of a performance is too much to ask of someone who is only four. He should never have been brought to both performances. An appearance on the balcony for a short time works but not a 2 hour performance of something that does not hold his interest.
I think it was very poor judgement on the adult part. And for those adults on here being so judgmental when was the last time you brought a four year old to an opera or a two hour performance geared toward adults. At four, they do not have the attention span. He should have been left home until he was older.
This was a once in a lifetime event. I would have wanted my kids to attend as much of it as possible.

The royal family has an agreement with the press. The press are allowed in on certain internal doings in exchange for a bit of control over what gets published. The RF throws a gala for the British press each year. Sometimes the press gets out of hand and publishes things that upset the family. I wouldn't be surprised if someone is getting an earful about publishing the picture of Louis with his hand to his nose.
Part of H&Ms complaint was that the press wouldn't back off from them and the RF wouldn't rein in the press.

I feel sorry for Kate that her son is acting so badly. That hand with the fingers spread and toward Kate is terrible. He deserves a little spanking just a few hits nothing drastic. I would think he saw that face on TV. I know Prince Will is not making those faces. lol Louis is a little boy with a devil on his shoulder. However, he is only 4 years old and bored to tears sitting there. Kate is always so good with her children and Charlotte and George listen, Louis is another story,

As someone who has taken both a four year old boy and girl to church, they can be rambunctious so I'm not judging. Personally, I find him funny.

On their twitter account, William and Kate thanked the public for participating in the Jubilee weekend. Below is the last part of the thank-you referencing Louis. Very cute! William has inherited the Queen's wonderful sense of humor!
