Agreed, @ECBG ,  that original photo is super harrowing and never fails to make me queasy!   Those men were amazing, and the photo is a priceless artifact of an earlier time...

Oh no, oh no, oh no, no, no, no!  

I don't care if it's not real, a glass enclosure around them, the floor five feet below them, or photoshopped,  It still makes my stomach flip!

No, not even the new attraction...it's not for me.  Maybe if I were much younger.

I can remember seeing that iconic photo many years ago and realized that this is how many of those workers spent their day and how they took their lunch.  I found it very unbelievable but really how else were they going to keep building up. Some sadly did fall and lost their lives.

I find it's a shame that we can't believe our own eyes when it comes to photographs anymore!  Is it real or is it photo shopped?

The original photo was a staged promo for the new building. The men didn't really congregate to eat lunch. 

The history behind the building of the skyscrapers is quite interesting and a testament to the diversity of traditional cultural skills needed to build this country. The Mohawk Indians played a large part in the Iron works industry in NYC.

@newjerseygirl  My comments were not in reference to the contemporary photo. I had hope that writing circa 1932 and the RCA building would have been clarifying. Again, my comments refer to the Black and white photo with only the men.
