People sit atop a beam over Manhatten recreating a very old picture.

I can barely look at the picture!!!

Visitors ride the “Top of the Rock: The Beam” attraction on Nov. 30, 2023. The attraction allows guests to recreate the 1932 photo "Lunch Atop a Skyscraper,” which was originally published in The New York Herald-Tribune on October 2, 1932.

"Lunch A Top A Sky Scraper" 1932.

The recreated version is a 'big whoop'. There's a glass barrier wall and a brick floor right under them. Not even close to as daring as the original.

I think the angle of the first photo makes the ladies appear higher off the ground than they actually are, and there is a  glass wall-thank goodness! For the right financial incentive I might be persuaded to give it a go.😁

If the photo of the men is authentic, absolutely NOT for all the gold in Fort Knox!!!!😂

@ECBG @You're correct. It is an authentic photo of men at work on the RCA building in. New York, circa 1932. Most of the workers are immigrants in this instance. Other construction companies hired Native Americans because of the fearless work on skyscrapers.

@ECBG @Yes, mine does also. I can't bring myself to go to Willis Tower and standing in the glass enclosure extending out from the building.
