@Moonchilde  Yes I make shepherd's pie with beef I do not like the lamb here at all.  The lamb I have seen here generally comes from Australia or New Zealand and it is too 'gamey' or strong tasting for me.  When I go home I always get an English leg of lamb as it is much sweeter and milder tasting delicious with baby peas and mint sauce! and roast potatoes yum!  Sunday roast.

I must be the only 'alien' cooking Sunday roast dinners when it is 90+ degrees here in the summer.  Not telling DH about Hob Nobs his other favorite!  We are nowhere near a Cost Plus unfortunately but do check online.

If if ever our move back to CA occurs I will still provide you with previously offered cream tea or maybe now shepherd's pie!

We like German sausages too.

@dulwich - YUM! You’ve got a date ;-)

I never had any lamb until I had it broiled by Armenian, Persian or Mediterranean chefs, and found it delicious. I don’t think most Americans know how to cook it. Don’t know where those restaurants get their lamb from, though.

I can't tell you how excited I got when I read your post.  I rushed right to their website to see if, by chance and luck, they carry  tea cakes.   I fell in love with toasted tea cakes with a litte butter on top when we lived in England.  But, BOO they don't have them.   So, my search continues.

@Bridgegal  Trader Joes sells tea cakes and crumpets. I don't know if you will think they are as good as what you had in the UK, but I like them

@Bridgegal, google “Welsh tea cakes for sale” and you will find close to what you’re talking about I think. They can be bought online, as can crumpets. Trader Joe’s sells them and some grocery stores do; Wolferman’s website also sells them.
