Call centers not a good example of customer service

I’m sure many of us if not all have had to deal with call centers. I find it especially annoying and at times difficult to understand the operators as many are from India and have thick accents that I have trouble understanding and the worse is when they are obviously at home because you can hear kids making noise and the dog barking. I’m happy that one company makes it a point in their commercials that their call centers are here in the U.S. if I need help it’s nice to get someone you understand in a professional manner.

You have a lot of complaints today, might want to take a break from shopping encounters.

I had occasion to call the Consumer Cellular customer service center.  The representative was easy to understand, pleasant, and patient in helping with my request.

Re: Call centers not a good example of customer service

I hate it so much when I have to call some companies.  Often they are in a call center and you can hear so many other people speaking in the background that it's so difficult to understand the person that you're speaking to.

I also hate the "prepared" responses they often say during the call such as "I'm so sorry that you're having this difficulty".

I'm also tired of how answers are different depending on who you speak to.  I had to call UPS yesterday regarding a fee for a pick-up I had scheduled as they billed me twice according to my credit card company.  I spoke to the first rep and he told me they only billed once.  I hung up and called back and the 2nd rep agreed with my credit card company that I had billed twice for the same service and that he would reverse one of the charges!  I'm tired of calling multiple time to get a problem resolved.

A few years ago my husband had been confined in the hospital 13 times during 1 year.  I had to call constantly medical billing offices regarding medical bills that were not billed to my insurance.  They had my insurance card - just send it to the address on the card!

It’s a shame that companies only think of their own bottom line and do not respect the customer. I know there has been some noise about call centers being overseas. I just don’t know why I’m this economic climate they wonder why it’s in decline.
