My daughter ordered items from Walmart including a Tricycle for her 3 yr old and a box of diapers and other items. When I arrived at her home last week to babysit my grandson there were 2 large boxes on her front porch, the one on top was open and both had her name and address on them, delivered by UPS. When her husband took the boxes in the house and completely opened the top box there was a huge bag of chicken feed in it. I took a picture and he said what the heck did she order? we don't have chickens! The second box had not been opened thank goodness because when he opened it there was the tricycle(the most expensive item ordered). I called my daughter at work, she was shocked and immediately contacted UPS who confirmed the delivery time for the packages and she contacted Walmart who replaced the items. Apparently UPS did not ring her doorbell on delivery (that happens often) so my son-in-law did not know the order was there. They don't even live in a farm area, they are in a newer community of homes and I doubt anyone owns chickens. Obviously someone opened the box between Walmart and UPS and stole the diapers, babywipes and other items. I just hope they were given to a mom who really needed them. What's the world coming to?

I shop on line a lot, and some of my orders are heavy.
For example, I order kitty litter on line, and sometimes, the box will arrive all banged up, and having been re-taped, because of the weight.
But I can't imagine a box of diapers being all that heavy.
But today's boxes do get banged up a lot while in transit, I'm guessing because there are so many more boxes being used to ship stuff, and it bangs up against machines, or gets caught on machines, that the cardboard tears, and stuff falls out.
It might not be noticed immediately (everything is automated), so they pick up what's near by, which might be the right stuff, or the wrong stuff, and just shove it back in to the box, and tape it up.
Somewhere out there is a shopper wondering where their chicken feed is.
Wouldn't it be interesting if they ended up with the diapers?

I have a similar story. I had a UPS store pack and ship a small bag of toys and goodies for the grandpuppy and grandcat. They got the delivery and my son called and ssid your sending us tools now? It turns out it was a large tool box with expensive mechanics tools. They picked it up the next day however it took several calls and emails from both of us to get the small box delivered.

Obviously there was a theft? Not even a doubt that it was a shipping error and the person that ordered the chicken feed got the diapers, etc? Do you really think someone would open the box, remove the diapers and other items then replace them with "a huge bag of chicken feed"?
What is the world coming to indeed.
P,S. As I've encouraged others have your daughter sign up with UPS, USPS and FedEx to be notified when a package is delivered. It is free and there are several options that can be selected from advance notice that a package is coming to notice that a package has been delivered.

That's what Walmart's C/S rep thought. Whatever happened was unfortunate so as I said before I hope they went to someone who had a need for them. Thanks

Amazon has sent wrong item to me 3 times over. Finally I said dont send me a another one. I think the item bin number in the warehouse was wrong. A bot probably selected it. Customer service said they pull from a bin with the item # on it. The packers do not check item. I ordered fish food and they kept sending me a fiesta purple large coffee cup. I mean they look so similar, right? Lol

Sometimes the warehouse just sends out the wrong item. Recently my DD ordered a fleece blanket on sale at Kohls, and what arrived was an air fryer. The invoice clearly said blanket. She returned it to CS and they were completely baffled and acted like she was pulling a fast one.
