Not only that, his father was in education and was the superintendent of the school district I was in many years ago.
The pope's brother - who looks just like him, by the way- popped up on my Instagram this morning. He was being interviewed by a news station. He mentioned that he talks to his brother every morning and they do Wordle. The post gave me a smile.

I saw that on one of the main media sites and it said Wordle but also watched The Conclave.too that day. I think there is some show streaming, have not seen it but heard of it. It was nice to think he is just and every day person enjoying life.

Yes; that was the interview. I forgot about them watching The Conclave. The interview was an interesting perspective from which to view the new pope.

Encourage those interested watch Pope Leo first homily earlier this morning. He said: he will 'sing a new song to the Lord' chills went through my entire body. God bless, Pope Leo XIV may he continue serving protected from harm. Amen. đź’ś

A helpful resource if you're looking for information about particular cardinals (including Pope Leo XIV) is collegeofcardinalsreport dot com.
Details major issues and where each cardinal stands. Biographical information. Any controversies.
My personal choice for the position has very clear opinions on the issues. Pope Leo XIV? Not so much.
A bit nebulous, actually.

@just bee It's been said that Leo typically plays it close to the vest and is not often 'in your face' with his opinions. What I've read seems to indicate he decides things based on the merits of the situation rather than often expressing more fixed stances. He strikes me as a considered and reflective sort of man, who seems not to lean to extremes in either direction, which I can appreciate. I too had others in mind for the job, but will see how this unfurls. Besides, I suppose far worse choices might have been made and it is nice that Catholicism in the U.S. received some recognition and perhaps a much needed shot in the arm. An interesting choice...

And I can't disagree with any of that.
I hope he is... measured. And I realize there were contenders that wouldn't quite "measure up."
Have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised by this choice: An American, from my hometown, in my lifetime. ![]()

People can also look at what he/they have tweeted/retweeted.
You can look at the new Pope's twitter history and see that he's pretty open about where he stands on some things.
