I agree.  Rinse the nozzle before the product dries on it.

I just turn the can or spray bottle a way from me and clean out the hole with a toothpick.  Just a couple of turns does the trick.

You all may not believe this...but the only hairspray nozzle I've ever had clog was on a can of a Nick Chavez spray! As I remember, hot water took care of it.

 

I've used Tresemme hairspray for many years now, and never had a clogged nozzle.

 

With pump bottles, I've had the occasional pump that wouldn't open, but don't recall one ever clogging.

I don't know who "we" is, but I didn't even use hairspray in high school.
