From a time and money perspective, for many people, online grocery shopping and home delivery makes sense. Assume you earn $15 per hour. If it takes 2 hours to grocery shop and bring it home, then the cost of your food is what you paid Walmart plus $30 for your time. If you make $100 per hour, then the cost of your food is what you paid at Walmart plus $200 for your time. If you make $500 per hour, then the cost of your food is what you paid at Walmart plus $1,000 for 2 hours of your time. So for some people, online shopping for food makes sense. Otherwise the cost of grocery is much too high.
